How many people from out of the Grand Rapids area coming to Founders for their bottles are going to try to buy more from Grand Rapids area stores? The Grand Rapids locals better be prepared for some competition. All my bottles are reserved thankfully.

Most of the stores I've heard from in Grand Rapids anticipate getting 200-300 bottles each. At $25 a pop, I find it hard to believe that this will sell out everywhere, if anywhere.

If that's the case, I envy you all in GR. Beer nerds in Chicago will wipe a $25 BA stout off the shelves in the space of an hour or two, if it's worthy. And if this batch of CBS is like the last we got here, it's definitely worthy.

I found this year's batch to be very balanced. Not Maple forward at all. Had SLBS Double Maple last night and that reminded me of CBS 2014 much more than the 2017 CBS. However its still incredible and you should still try to get a bottle. So maybe my point is moot.

Well, maybe I should try to get a bottle of both! But yeah, I'll still embarrass myself by stalking Jewel on Friday, thanks.

But how does it compare to a 2011 bottle that was aged in someone's room temp closet for 3 years and then traded 4 times and eventually opened at a bottle share. That's the real test...

Is that $25 for a 12oz bottle or bomber? That will dictate how much I actually seek out.

CBS is all 750ml (edit: and draught) this year.

It's a 12 oz. if you're going to the same Jewel as me. Otherwise, it's a bomber.

Yeah, i’m with you on this. Even with higher than anticipated bottle counts around GR, I can’t imagine it last long at all. Anyone expecting bottles to sit on shelves is vastyly underestimating the beer community and the popularity of CBS.

    Cheers!

Eh, I don't know. 200 bottles per store? That's like 15 cases. At 1-2 bottles/per, it'll easily last all day. Remember, tickets to the ACTUAL release were available for 30 min.-hour. So people that want this beer, already have it secured. Straglers will get their bottles in stores on release day, but they're not buying up all of it. It'll sell out EVENTUALLY, but I see it lasting days, if not weeks in some places.
