What beer are you drinking now? #1866

I just finished my first Velvet Merkin. I was excited to actually get my hands on one (I purchased 3) and have to say that for what it cost combined with the hype surrounding it I found to be a touch disappointing. The box was cool (ingenious marketing) and the bottle was classy. It was at 55 degrees and 2017 vintage. I found it to be very barrel froward with the actual base stout overpowered and thin. The other 2 are going on the shelf for a couple of years. Now I love my bourbon stouts and have a great collection but I found this one to be very unbalanced. Not at all what I had expected.

 

Vacation beer from the great state of New Jersey. Home of some excellent beer and batshit crazy drivers.

My girl works for a department store. They just got a really good Santa their store. However, he lives on Long Island and they don't want him to have to make the daily commute. She tried to talk me into letting him stay here from the rest of the holiday season. She make the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale triple strength to try and loosen me up to the idea.

I am going to finish these beers then put the old man out on his ass.

I'm pretty sure you guys disable the speedometers in your vehicles. You just see my license plate and assume I'm driving 20mph to slow.....

I legit witnessed someone pull into a parking space at 25 to 30mph between two cars. It was like a live version of Ace Ventura. The turnpike feels a bit like Mad Max:Fury Road.

 

Seems like there's an opportunity there for you but I'm not quite sure what it is.

The parkway is 65 traffic flow is around 75 and i swear the fart cannon cars go 120 and weave in and out with no signals. Lol. Also bmws and audis have no brakes in nj. They constantly roll through every sign and red light.

 

Outside getting some Christmas lights to work, or at least trying
