Founders CBS 2017 Release

Didn't Binnys release CBS on Black Friday? No wait, that was See B.S.

 

I will be in Detroit on Sunday, anyone know of some stores I should check? Hopcat is rapping CBS Friday, doubtful to last but figure I can try.

 

I'm Hopcat and I'm here to say, I love Founders Breakfast Stout aged in maple syrup bourbon barrels in a major way.

 

I believe it's not the Breakfast Stout recipe at all for the base beer.

That's ok. I'm well aware that the joke was awful to begin with. You didn't hurt it at all.

 

It actually is. They stated that an "imperialized version" of FBS is the base for both KBS and CBS. See here.

Kudos to @cl3...I really wanted to do some rapping bit as well, but I was beat to it, and mine would have been inferior.

 

This is probably the first beer in my life I am actually really excited to get my hands on a bottle. I need CBS

Not sure I follow your question, as I thought the info in the link was straightforward. According to that link, KBS and CBS have the same base beer, which is an imperialized version of FBS. So, the base beer presumable isn't the same FBS we all drink, but somehow they dial it up a notch or two for the base of CBS/KBS.

 

I'll be interested to see if this lives up to the expectations of the folks on here, or the previous releases?

To say that it's not the Breakfast Stout recipe at all for the base beer seems wrong IMO. It's the Breakfast Stout recipe, but imperialized. Semantics perhaps, but leads me to believe that FBS is the base beer.

I think this will be hell to find in the Chicago area. I just called my local Jewel. Before I can even ask, the lady said "Are you calling about that beer?" She said they got a ton of calls about it. They have 30 bottles, limit 2. No way I'm getting up early and waiting in line on back to back Friday's, especially since it'll be on my way to the office.

 

For anyone hunting CBS at Jewel tomorrow both Jewels I talked to today (Countryside and LaGrange Park) said they hadn't received their shipment of CBS yet. Both are expecting it tomorrow in their Budweiser shipment and told me to call around 11 am to check back in. Just wanted to let any of you who were thinking about waiting in some kind of line for it, its probably a good idea to call first and make sure they'll have it ready when liquor sales start. The LaGrange Park guy told me limit 2 and they were getting 3 cases.

 

Interesting, I wonder if Westmont and Clarendon Hills are on the same schedule.

 

Is this Jewel in Chicago or in the suburbs?
