Founders CBS 2017 Release

I went to jewel in Naperville, they hadn't received their shipment yet. I was put on the list allowing only 36 people to purchase. At that time a guy was walking out with a case of BCBS.

 

I was at the Plainfield Jewel. I arrived at 6:45 and was number 22 in line. They had 23 bottles.

 

No, I understand that too. It gets crazy on KBS Saturday, though. And someone asked about a pre-open bottle share earlier. As long as there are no lines on Sunday for me!

 

Sucks they got shorted on one of their cases.

 

I did the same and the wife and I each got a ticket. We'll do the 6 hour round trip tomorrow morning. Grandma will watch the kids for most of the day and we'll get to enjoy GR, a city we really love, in a relaxing way. Not taking time off of work or chasing this one was more than worth it.

Yeha I was at that jewel at 6:45 and they said releasing it at 10am. Come back at 8:30 and they are like, we sold out of them. FML

 

Unfortunately the outdated craft beer mentality that one has to wait in line for something limited still exists. The beer isn't going anywhere, meaning Founders is NOT going to run out of CBS on tap. I already mentioned earlier in this thread that yes, it will get crowded on Saturday for pours in the taproom.

That said, show up at 11:00am this morning and you will get in, and you will get a pour of CBS. Or show up now and wait 45 minutes in the cold to be let in with the people that arrive at 11:00am.

 

Is this beer seriously worth it to line up or try to get to a store early in the AM? I have completely lost my taste for KBS. Such a mediocre beer compared to everything else that's available. Not sure how much better CBS is. Anyone care to comment that has actually had it from a bottle?

 

Jewel in Grayslake is sold out.

 

Grabbed my two bottles at a local shop here in Indy. They had enough for people to go through the line 3-4 times from what it seemed. I only wanted two so I just browsed and watch the rest of the group go in and out a bunch. Was probably 30th in line when I got there 10 mins before open and was paying 10 mins after open.

 

Yeah, so it's not the Walgreen's on California/Diversey. Which one is it? Thanks!

I never enjoyed KBS much, and don't love coffee stouts. The last batch of CBS I had is one of my favorite stouts. I hear this batch isn't identical, but I also hear great things.
