What beer are you drinking now? #1868

A short trip to the bank and grocery store this morning turned into a four hour marathon compounded by Christmas shoppers and crowds filling up the town for University related activities. So my first beer of the day is . . .



Light gold color with white cap.

Clean light malt scent with no apparent hops which at 10 IBU isn't surprising.

Taste on entry is just like the scent but richer with no rough edges. I also get a pleasant bready flavor emerging in the aftertaste.

Medium texture with balancing carbonation.

No surprises here, brewer promises a simple, easy drinking lager and delivers one.

 

My store doesn't get their CBS allocation until next week, so I had to take a consolation prize.

3 went in the fridge, 1 went into hiding for my Christmas lineup

next week I am picking up 2 bombers of Founders CBS, and 1 is going into the fridge for consumption that evening and 1 is going into hiding for my Christmas lineup

 

a wrap day gets me home at 2pm including a stop at my beer store -

and I had things to do ...

and this opens today..

Let’s see if this works. It’s been so long since I’ve used Imgur, I feel like a newb. Anyway, still on the wagon - as of now - so im ‘cheersing’ my cold brew. And what is that beauty to the left? I’ve been unintentionally aging it for the last three years that I haven’t been able to drink! The plan is that when I comeback in full force, I would like to trade it for the latest goodies.

Going straight for the barrel after another day of beer shopping. The releases are falling like dominoes and emptying the wallet at a blistering pace. This beauty from Central Waters should get me on the road to warm and fuzzy again!

Nice Citrus and Floral nose with a crisp Orange Citrus flavor and nice Spearmint and Resinous finish.

 

I thought you mixed these at first, making a black and red wonder how that would be...

 

Like many BAs...color me surprised. I don't hate this

The biggest positive about this is the bottle...i think it's really cool and actually looks like it could come straight out of the early 1900s. Even if the backstory is bullshit, Budweiser actually made a lager i would definitely have again, nailing some actual flavor and body. Would especially have with food
