"Regulars" these days really are just old timers/friends. I'm sure plenty of people buy tons of beer at lots of stores regularly but not every regular purchaser is a regular. Gotta grease the skids.

I agree the best option to me is that a place should say "we're going to base allocations on the line at open".

BTW, WF actually did this. If you read their release page, they didn't say people were guaranteed 3 variants, they said "up to 3 variants" and "we don't know who will get what variants". They caveated the hell out of it, and to me anyone going there was taking on some measure of finger crossing if they thought they'd get 3 variants.

For the most part I agree, but Kingsbury Lincoln Park has been doing an event for years now. Back when Backyard and Prop first came out, they had a huge lines with 15+ cases of prop, backyard and coffee/bw 4-packs, and made a huge event out of it.

I’ve already admitted I was incorrect. I saw a dude checking out with 2 props, so I just assumed

Oh yeah, I'm not including WF LP; that place DOES do a real event. If they fuck up, it's on them.

Just a bunch of cry babies that only stood in line for more beer to sell or trade.

To all the butt hurt beertards in the thread. Stores are allocated cases based on how much goose they sell throughout the year. If you want your local whole foods or binnys to get more then help support it by buying goose island every once and a while and dont just go to buy the newest hottest beer.

That being said as an ex binnys employee they did get first dibs on rare things like bourbon county. It probably works the same way at WF and jewel. They deserve it for working there and putting up with the whiny babies that throw a temper tantrum online when they don't get their way.

I understand some of the whining gets tedious, but did you come back to an account that's been dormant for 6 years to shit on a few salty whale chasers?

Because if so, I'm not sure whether to laugh or respect the effort. :stuck_out_tongue:

Prop kicked in 13 minutes at Jewel on Des Plaines. No joke. It lasted 3.5 hours yesterday at Jewel on Division.

I was there and happily got what i could get with no complaints. My buddy showed me the post cuz we wottnrssed
I did as a matter of fact lol. I was there and bummed i couldnt get prop but happily took my northwoods and regular and completely understood why they limited the variants to one per person. I heard guys in front of me bitching and thought they were being twats so when my buddy stumbled upon an earlier post from one of those exact guys i just felt compelled to jump on.

Didn't work so well in Kalamazoo/MI. Promised if stocked/pushed shelfies, more variants. Instead our local stores got a total of ZERO variants. Pushed 312 and got 86'd.

I've seen multiple people posting pictures of cases+ of CBS today. Makes 'only' spending $400 seem reasonable.

I've done whole foods releases for past 5 years and they have always been very well run. Not a one of us has any control about how much beer they get or how many they hold back for employees. The main issue today is how all of the sudden common sense went out the window and they allowed people to get multiples of all the props, reserves, and NW. If you have 100 people in line why wouldn't you enforce a common sense policy of 1 of each variant as has been the standard norm in the past to make people who have been in line for hrs a fighting chance.
