I miss Pretty Things. I wish I drank more of their stuff when I had the chance. Granted, I tried everything they ever brewed, but I regret not drinking it in greater volume. I assume many of you feel the same way. I wonder what Dann & Martha are doing (?) Anyone know? I suppose the end was really the end...

...I have a last bottle of Barbapapa that I’m probably never going to drink. Sentimental value is colossal at this point. Is it influenced by nostalgia and memory more than fact? Probably, but Pretty Things’ popularity coincided perfectly with my interest in local craft and I couldn’t have been luckier.

    RIP...

I’m drinking a bottle of 2011 ‘Our Finest Regards’ right now. It is absolutely amazing. If I knew how to post pictures on BA, I would share pic.

The last time they publicly checked in they were traveling through Europe. Dan was obviously well trained brewer. Martha was, I think, a PhD scientist. I think they are well skilled for their next adventure.

All I know is that Pretty Things Beer was one hell of a fun drinking ride.

Makes me hope I still have a Field Mouse’s Farewell tucked away somewhere...

Pretty Things was great. Still have a few bottles of OFR tucked. The bombers prevented me from drinking all I would have otherwise. Great beer, terrible delivery system. I would have drank my body weight in Jack D'or. Oh well.

I have a Fumapapa, Our Finest Regards and a Beloved Baby Tree that I've socked away and will probably just look at just now and then. Totally agree with your sentiments.

Ya gotta drink them! Celebrate PT. Then you have the empty bottles to keep and display. I too, enjoyed Pretty Things whenever I traveled from CT. to Julios or Table and Vine, I always checked for some PT.

    Cheers

They brewed some beer in the U.K. and put it on tap around London last year. Vee Vee tapped a OFR keg this week.

Would've been nice to see if they had been able to start canning beer if they still werearound these days.

    A 16oz 4pk of Jack D'or would be great

I liked Pretty Things too, esp Jack D’or, but the bomber format was a barrier for me to buy on the regular. The death of the bomber meant the death of Pretty Things too.

I predict Dann will be back in the NE brewing scene at some point, maybe at another established brew pub that he can just make beer & not have to worry about anything else.

Were they tied to the bomber because they brewed at Buzzards Bay? Afaik I don't think Buzzards Bay packages anything but bombers.

I miss St. botolphs more than anything. It was the best brown ale on the market.

A liquor store here in my town still has two bottles of Jack D'Or, brewed in December of 2014. Part of me wants to pick them up just to see if they held up at all.

Had a Fumapapa around Halloween. Different from the Barba cuz of the smoke, but I'm not sure I'd hold onto these bottles forever. Drink them and enjoy them. If you want to be sentimental, keep the bottles or whatever after. These beers were meant to be enjoyed!

Anyways, hope they reside somewhere nearby, should they decide to return to the craft

I opened a Fumapapa about 2 months ago and it was still tasting great, although, it's definitely not going to improve at this point. it was less smokey and sweeter than fresh. I've got one more that I'm waiting to share with a few friends who will all appreciate a final PT beer.

I've got a couple 2015 Barbapapas and a 2015 Fumapapa left. Wish there was a way to get more. And yeah, definitely not getting better but not really getting worse that quickly. Drank my last 2014 Barbapapa a few months ago. It was incredible, except for some black, goopy coagulation going on at the bottom of the bottle, lol.

I also miss Enlightenment Ales. Wonder if Ben is back in the states for good now (that Honest Weight collaboration was delicious), and if he's thinking of opening another brewery...

Interesting timing for this thread. I was in a store near Pasedena last weekend and found a bottle of Meadowlark in the cooler. Unfortunate to see such an old IPA on the shelf but it was a nice moment of nostalgia - remembering the Meadowlark launch at Atwoods
