Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! Looking to be a nice mild day today. Don't have much to do, but I inherited my dads road bike last weekend; so I need to take it to the shop to get fixed up. Needs to get a quick release axle, clipless pedals, new chain etc. Probably hasn't been ridden in 5-10 years lol.

Awesome as usual this year, got a 6 pack this week. Amazing lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Insanely drinkable. Super juicy and lightly dank Chinook/Centennial/Cascade hops; perfect malt balance, never overly sweet/heavy feeling. I love C hops all year, the fresh hops are very obvious with the herbal/spicy quality going on. Will definitely be getting another pack eventually.

My favorite hoppy American brown of all time. I haven't bought this in some time though, got a fresh pack this week. Fantastic! Flavors of big chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, toasted dark bread, nuttiness, molasses, and light dark fruit; with a fair amount of herbal, grassy, peppery, piney earthy hop flavors. Light-moderate pine/herbal/grassy hop and roast bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Great creamy/bready/grainy malt mouthfeel; light chalky roast and sticky hops. Lightly increasing bitter/roasted dryness, never acrid/astringent. Insanely smooth drinking. Awesome rich brown ale malt complexity, great earthy hop balance, without going overboard. I need to grab this more often moving forward. We didn't seem to get any fresh batches until more recently, so I hope that continues. Need to revisit Namaste soon as well. Used to be my favorite witbier.

Always delicious! Glad we got fresh packs this year, I didn't see any last year for some reason. Flavors of big pumpkin, brown sugar, toasted brown bread, cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, caramel, and herbal spice earthiness; with some light raisiny dark fruit notes in the back. Light balancing herbal/spice bitterness against the malt sweetness. Medium-full bodied; creamy/bready mouthfeel; with a bit of drying spice stickiness. Minimal warming 8%. Definitely my favorite as far as darker/sweeter/malty pumpkin ales go. Lots of complexity going on. Great balance and not overly spicy. Super smooth for the ABV. Will likely be grabbing this again where I know it's available; got 1 bottle left.

Today's morning new massive beer review. Apparently boiled for 24 hours; aged in Heaven Hill, Buffalo Trace, and Jim Beam bourbon barrels for more than one year; then blended together. 2015 vintage. This was amazing! Flavors of huge milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, toffee, fudge, marshmallow, molasses, vanilla, bourbon, coconut, toasted oak, and dark/brown bread; with lighter notes of raisin, prune, fig, licorice, soy sauce, leather, tobacco, pepper, and smoke. Similar, but muted aromas. Mild roast bitterness and bourbon/oak tannin spice on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and huge full body; with an insanely creamy, silky, velvety, and rich body. Slight slickness, chalky roast, and oak tannin. Touch of roast/tannin dryness, no cloying sweetness. This is the smoothest 17.5% beer I have ever had. Very mild lingering warmth, no booze. Doesn't come off overly drying/boozy from the barrels like all the Bruery stouts. Thick body without being slick. Extremely rich and well rounded malt/barrel complexities; along with amazing balance between the two. Superb. 4.4

Good morning BAs! It looks like another sunny and cool day here in NW PA - that works for me because it means more time spent outside getting "stuff" done before winter - actually the "stuff" is hiding from Mrs. Lizard who has indoor "stuff" for me to do, totally unrelated to my lifestyle. Yesterday I got most of the apple trees trimmed (she had no clue - guess the chain saw wasn't loud enough) and the windows cleaned for the Christmas wreaths as well as the inside stuff I did before she got up. Got more inside and outside stuff to do today as well.

Today's New Breakfast Beer is one I received in a Ninja box from @Dragginballs76 after NBS #5. This has been cellared for nearly 10 months and is sehr gut!

Michael has introduced me to Westbrook Brewing and so far my experiences with their brews has been impressive. Thanks man - they make some great beers in your region!

And, BTW, this is what I was drinking yesterday for breakfast, before the thread opened, so I couldn't post it.

A blast from the past for me, getting old's a bitch.

Nice beer! And the whole Venus/Mars thing - so true! You can toil and complete so many very necessary (seemingly minor) tasks, but if not on the Mrs.’ chore list, then “what have you been up to today, Sugar?”...Enjoy your accomplishments and your beer!

I've had this on tap at the Dancing Camel Brewpub in Tel Aviv a few times, it was my first chili beer and really blew me awy back then. Imagine my surprise when I actually found this at my local bottle store the other day, brewed by a Berlin brewery for Dancing Camel.

I have to say, it's even better than I remembered it and I really think that has more to do with them improving the recipe than hazy memories. This is pretty much a proper belgian Wit now, spiced up with some mean chili peppers.

It's a pretty nice Wit too, easily drinkable, with some really nice notes of orange rind and coriander and a slight, crisp tartness. The chili is quite spicy, but not overpowering, and lingers on the tongue in a really pleasant way.

As the Mrs. is off to the museum this morning, I think I will join you early-morning virtual bar denizens with some coffee. While this doesn't have chocolate or bourbon barrel like some other breakfast beer making the news this week, it still has plenty of maple and a higher kick (12.5%) than CBS. I especially like the description on the bottle of "imperial stout fermented with coffee and maple syrup". I heard plenty of great things about this beer from a number of people, and they all were right.

Hope it's a perfect day for you all too, advocates.

Jester King • Bière de Miel VS The Ale Apothecary • Sahalie Honey Bottle Ferment

Decided to do a side-by-side of two wild fermented beers that were brewed with honey. But this isn’t a fair fight. The Jester King (Batch #4 - 8/30/16 ) is lighter and, like most of the bears that I’ve had from them, fairly subtle. The Ale Apothecary (Brewed Once - 6/22/15), on the other hand, is very complex, with the honey up front and of course lots of funk. The winner is The Ale Apothecary, hands down.

4 years later this has become a wonderful mix of chocolate and bourbon. Smoothing out and could definitely go a few more years, thinking it maybe peaking though
