Burley Oak is doing some crazy good new age sour stuff right now. Pretty soon the copycats will come out. Can't wait TBH. The more breweries doing this the better.

I had Tree House Julius for the first time this year...but if we’re taking 2017 new releases I’d have to say Breakside What Rough Beast IPA

I've got to try a lot of awesome beers for the first time this year. Pliny, Heady, Julius, Green, and in the very near future CBS. Best new beer though, Boss Tweed.

Coffee Porter from Walnut River Brewing Company. First local beer that's really blown me away.

Firestone Walker Mocha Merlin. $7.49 for a 6’er of this? QPR is fantastic and best I’ve had this year!

Runner Up: Sierra Nevada Fresh Hop IPA from the Fresh Hop 12 pack.

Review #6000, top 5 of all time, blows any sour I've ever had out of the water. The perfect Flanders red ale.

The operative word for me is favorite, not best. Bells Arabicadabra. I wish I stocked up on this beer and now it’s vanished. Seems like destiny with a name like that ;n)

What was your favorite beer that you had consumed in 2017? It could be new in 2017, it could be new to you.

I've had a lot of really good beers, so I thought about beers that I just kept raving about, and ended up with two:

Funky Buddha - Last Buffalo in the Park - The coconut and barrel combo in this was insane.

Grimm - Power Source - Was lucky enough to land this in a trade, despite not having had any Grimm before. Thick, lasting juice with strong finish. I was truly impressed as this was right after a road trip to the big NE breweries.
