Among the many thoughtful posts over the years from @EdwardAbbey, I think this one is the best. Great story, right on point, and a great close: "We are not the complete rulers of the stuff between our ears." Amen to that.

Waxing too philosophic for me. I think I'll have a beer.

i echo this sentiment, although "a recipe is a recipe" doesn't quite apply to the brewing world. ingredients and suppliers change and recipes are adjusted as the brewery sees fit. it typically results in a better beer.

personally i think CBS is a classic example of bad set and setting. it use to be such a "woah" type of beer; talked about and consumed in the same vein as king henry, black tuesday, pliny, etc. but now fremont has put BBA stouts on the shelves pretty much year round, at a reasonable price, and it's fucking great stuff. personally, i'm getting tired of these "one day only!" beer releases.

    Thank you. It's simpler
to grasp for cheap laughs, but what
    counts is being true.

So... pining after a girl is the same as a beer.... molesty much? Wait, is your last name laurer? Weinstein? Ross?

But seriously, you're ridiculous... nothing In my posts say I'm dying for anything, its a figure of speech. It's on the short list of old top 10. I'm an extremely level headed person. It's my downfall

Maybe, in the cold light of day, it'll be apparent to you that this was quite possibly the least level-headed response conceivable to what I wrote. If not, no big deal.

I'm sorry CBS let you down. It happens.

Am trying a glass at Tin Bucket right now. Unfortunately, my reaction is pretty much identical to yours. I bought two bottles, and I'm hoping the beer will improve over time, but I'm not very optimistic.

Comparing this beer to KDS or Bbomb is laughable. 2017 CBS isn't even in the same league with those beers.

I was worried that Tin Bucket would run out of CBS before I was able to get down in time. LOL! My guess it'll be on for another week or more. At $8 for an 8 ounce glass, or $11 for a 12 ounce glass, I feel safe in saying the beer will be around for a while.

You do EdwardAbbey a disservice. If you knew him, you would apologize for comparing him to men who sexually harass women. That is below the standard of this forum. Seriously.

I've seen CBS in the Bay Area for $19 at Costco... anyone in the PNW see that as well?

    Nor have I in Oregon.

Someone else mentioned in the national CBS release thread that they saw bottles of CBS at a California Costco. So far, that's the only area of the country I've seen mention of Costco carrying CBS.

I've heard people are preferring it on their pancakes rather than a glass...

Something tells me you guys haven't had a stout with pancakes before. I strongly, strongly recommend it.

I had a pour of CBS at the secret A1 location. I enjoyed it, but I'd never go out of my way for a bottle/pour. I actually prefer Double Stack, as far as imperial maple stouts would go.

    As do I.

The first time I tried DS, I remember thinking "this is a pretty nice maple flavored imp stout, but it's no CBS." While I continue to agree with the latter sentiment, it's no longer because I think so highly of CBS.
