    Good Morning and Happy Hump Day BA!
    Up today is/ was a white whale for many, Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) from Founders Brewing. The maple and coffee are featured nicely here, but the barrel presence isnt as strong sadly. The beer isnt as sweet as I remember it, and yet that doesn't stop it from being a wonderful beer...cheers!

    The kids are still up studying for their last exam of the semester (noisily) and will soon be out of here, the furry children have been out twice (before and after breakfast), so I'm settling in for some quite time. Just me, the history channel and this . . .

    Dark mahogany color with a reddish cast, moderate cap and good lacing.

    Dark toffeeish malt aroma with hints of spice peaking out like tiny whitecaps on a relatively calm sea.

    This is a full flavored brew with roasted malt, caramel, toffee, also touches, and I mean touches, of the cinnamon, ginger and orange peel mentioned on the label. Hops are enough to be noticed from the beginning to the finish with lingering roasted nuts in the aftertaste.

    I finally managed to track some Xocoveza down! It's a really, really nice Stout, but not as amazing as I had build it up in my imagination. The spices are not coming through quite as much as I would have liked, especially the cinnamon and chili, which are kind of being drowned out by the vanilla and nutmeg. Still a very nice beer, will definitely have it again before it vanishes after the holidays.

    The wind died down to around 20mph, but it still made for one hell of a workout running this morning. I think I deserve at least one beer before heading to Chicago later today. This one is last years model and still has quite a bit of cinnamon hanging around. Have yourselves a fine day.....
