I know it's odd. I even googled infected barleywine first. Since the fiasco a couple years ago, it was just a thought that popped into my head. I remember feeling funny about half way thru the bottle and it's about the same time the wife got home with the pizza. It could be a million things, really.

Man, I have a kid who eats like I did back in the day. I ain't spending good money on good pizza when my son only wants this fast food junk which is cheaper and still makes a turd.

That’s the order they’re gonna tap in late March each quarter.

You’ll get neckbeards coming from far and wide to buy an SRO ticket and drink BCS.

Just to be clear, when they use the term infected for beer, that doesn't mean it's got something in it to make you sick. There's no health concerns with drinking an infected beer (from what I've been told & experienced)...just a bad beer taste.

That's pretty darn quick for food poisoning. A couple of q's: 1. What was eaten at the previous meal? That's the most likely source if food poisoning 2. Was there drinking the night before?

FWIW, no known human pathogen can survive in beer, so the alcohol is the only thing that is likely to have made you feel sick. What's more, typically food-borne illness typically takes a bit longer to set in than 1 hour, although that's not impossible.

If you hadn't eaten anything before drinking a15% abv barleywine, I'm guessing that was the root cause of your digestive distress...

I feel like the cassia bark is starting to overpower the banana in prop right now, fading fast

I've cold pressed banana and added cold-pressed banana juice to my BCBS many times before and never had it fade for at least 6 months. I use locally sourced casia bark that my pig sniffed out. Perfect balance. This must be lies.

There's a damn good reason Prop 17 is as highly regarded as anything else we've seen in ages.

The only thing I ate before was some lunch meat and cheese and that was around noon-ish when I was sipping on a normal BCS. Then I started on the Barleywine around 1:30 or so until maybe 4:30ish when the old lady got home with the pizza. I did not drink the day before. My stomach is still a mess to be honest. I highly doubt it was the beer, it's just my stomach is usually made of iron and I can drink and eat whatever so this was rare.

I had a regular BCS before that too so I'm going to guess you're right. I had some lunch meat and cheese for lunch, but it wasn't much.

Appreciate ya'll's input. I was just curious if anyone had gotten sick but if anything, I'd assume it was lack of food intake earlier and/or that pizza.

Is it possible you purchased too much BCBS this season and your wife is trying to poison you for insurance money? I hear that is fairly common around Black Friday....which might also be how that day got the name....

Anyone know of any places in the city where prop will be on tap tonight? Have a friend coming in from out of town and we would love to get a pour.

It’s not the city, not even close, but there’s a new bottle shop (crafted 1979) in mokena that I believe is tapping prop at 5 today
