This HAS to be an exaggeration. If you're talking about GrumpyOldTroll, I'd hate to think of what he'd do if he had an off bottle of King Henry...

This is absolutely accurate. Holds up better over the long term as well.

In response to the OP's question, I traded mine for a BCBVS around May/June, and I thought it was a very fair trade with a good trading partner. He agreed.

Just traded a CBS for KH 1:1.

    No regrets.

I agree with the majority of your statement, though I don't think that TP is saying that his friend opened 6 bottles in a row. I gathered that over a recent period of time, he has opened 6 bottles of CBS, all of which he drain poured.

Who knows, maybe they are conspiring to drive trade value down, or they just have such exceptional palates that the slightest fade of maple and coffee will induce an ipecac like gag-reflex.

I think most people who still have a bottle of this unopened in their cellars are missing the point of this beer...

Why would anyone pop 6 of the same thing and drain pour them? Let alone CBS. I would have stopped after the 1st and maybe decide it's a me thing and trade the rest. Popping 6 CBS and pouring each and everyone out sounds a little strange.

I don't think this really happened.

Maybe this "drain" he is referring to is his throat and he drank 6 bottles recently  .

I wish everyone could try the draft version of this beer. I loved the bottled version a lot back in March, but it has been light years better every single time I have had it on draft. Call it poor memory, batch variation, or the great experiences slanting the taste, but the draft version of this is still one of the best beers I have ever had. Right or wrong, I think my review of the bottled version got extra credit because of it.

    ...to me...

I have one (and some extras) if you happen to have a BCBVS. :grinning:

The draft version is okay. It still shows the crazy variation as well as KBS. I don't think it is much better than any wildy varied bottle. One keg I had was sickeningly sweet. I think you may be having some environmental influence.

We opened a bottle recently(within the past month), and while the maple has faded a bit, I think it is as close to perfect as it's ever going to be right now. All of the flavors are perfectly rounded out.

Don't bring that logical and accurate thought here. This is BA.

Very glad I'll be drinking my bottle next week when I visit my parents. Going to share it with my dad.
