Bro tip #1: 'brand new user' and 'couple of trades' shouldn't be in the same post. Ever.

You have to build some kind of knowledge base and reputation first. I would suggest doing plenty of reading, especially in the Trading Help forum.

As far as the ISO:FT forum...replies have been completely disabled for everybody, not just the new guys. You have to keep it private by starting a conversation with that user.

In person trades are a good way to start before entering the shipping area of trades.

Couldn't agree more. I have been lucky that my last 3 trades 2 were from fairly/very new BAs were mind blowing with generosity. I sent a couple boxes out today to hopefully pay back part of what was the greatness I received.

Always respond back when his stash lands to let him know you received it in good order. I have a guy I traded with, and the stuff was signed for on Tues and he still hasn't the sense or basic courtesy to let me know.

Ya know it's nice to let the guy know what you think of the brews you received too, again just a courtesy.

I am new as well. Trading sounds pretty neat, I'd love to give it a shot.

No gots? Only one want? No location? Joined yesterday? Sponge bob avatar? Looking to learn about trading? Sure, I'll trade with you, why not.

just like alot of them said, research is key, figure out what beers you want, then you need to find someone that is in the area of the brewery that you want, look at their wants and see what beers you can get them that are in your area, also you need to know the trading power of the beers so look at the top beers list, and youre going to have to ship first, no veteran trader is going to ship a box out first to a newbie...CHEERS
