Oh how times have changed. I walked there the other night this week and saw for the first time in awhile that old taproom open, some guys inside drinking. Almost made me nostalgic for those crowded quarters.

I met Other Half Sam last night in the taproom and almost wanted to ask him why they don't post case counts then report his response but to this community but decided against coming off confrontational or needy.

So I'm throwing that out here on an open forum if it would be proper to ask him that?

I would feel more comfortable asking Andrew instead of Sam. Not sure why though. Maybe because I get a feeling that Sam has nothing to do with their social media. Could definitely be wrong though.

Andrew and Cam are usually pretty good about giving people who are actually standing in line an idea of the case counts.

Haven't seen much regarding leftover bottles from yesterday. Assuming there are still a decent amount for today?

The line counts are nice but I (and probably a few others too) are hoping they release the case count numbers before the release like what Treehouse does.

Yeah there were bottles left for sale when I left around 11pm last night. Not sure how many but I didn't see many bottle sales happening while I was there

Definitely wasn't crowded last night...so that's probably a safe assumption

I wanna say tomorrow sounds like a chill release and there will be plenty left in the afternoon to just swing by, but of course the lack of transparency on case counts doesn't help with that assumption. I get that maybe they don't post case counts because they want people to think they have to go early to get itand drive the hype train, but they're losing the "casual" OH fan who wants beers but isn't planning their Saturday morning around it. I know I know, if I really cared I'd line up or get there early. I'm fully aware I might miss out if I don't get there early (the tragedy!!!!) just would like to sorta plan my day. Case counts would help!

If they can count the line and see whose gonna get allotments then they know how many cases they have. So why not post it? I could care less but it would be a determining factor for some people on whether or not to make the trip there. Who knows how much they hold back for events, bars, or hooking people up?

I get where you're coming from and it would definitely be helpful if they posted case counts after the canning runs, but at the same time I feel like 80-90% of the releases (obviously not for the super collab whalezz) in the last 6 months or so if you get there around 11am you will wait maybe 15-20 minutes and most if not all of the beers released will still be available. Now, if you can't get there until 1 or later then it's obviously much more of a crap shoot and if you absolutely must get every beer released then this strategy probably isn't for you. Do you guys really think OH still needs to "drive hype" at this point? That's the one phrase people have been throwing around in these threads for what seems like forever and I really don't get it at this point. Just my opinion obviously.

Edited: Also, one thing I haven't seen mentioned in the threads that would resolve almost every complaint regarding availability would be if they just released two beers every week and did double batches with the same limits. No one realistically needs more than 2 cases of beer and they would easily last throughout Saturday and in most situations probably into Sunday/Monday. This is something that I would really like to see, but almost certainly will not happen.

one thing i noticed last week is that they posted an update on instagram last week after the line had died down and said there was plenty left.

by 1:30pm both wangies had sold out and coming in hot was not too far behind. They also seemed to be ignoring the 4 pack limit after the initial rush.

Looks like snow starting pretty early tomorrow morning, will this keep the Philly/NJ crew away? I'm wondering if it is even worth it to go out at normal time.

Don't succumb to FOMO. Go at a time that doesn't require a ton of effort, if you get cans ( you will), great, if you miss out and something, so be it. There is always next week. Remember all the craziness around the Trillium collab? Or maybe not, people forget quick. In spite of all those crazy lines and the hysteria to get those beers, you can stroll into the tap room and get it now!

Pick your spots at OH, you will get great beer with a minimum of effort. Let the people who can't get over FOMO and the resellers waste their time in line.

If this wasn't the only release I could make before Christmas I would probably not worry about missing cans. I'm getting cans as a present for some people and some to bring home since my Dad loves Other Half.

Very cool! Nothing like drinking beer with your father! I have many great memories with my father ( still alive), some of them include times we hung out drinking beer together.

We've been homebrewing together for like 6 years? Its nice to have a hobby that we both share, we're headed to Treehouse and Trillium between Christmas and New Years which should be fun.
