I do love me some Schlenkerla every now and then. Goes great with pork scratchings! Would probably be even better with smoked beef jerky, I wish I had some...

[IMG] A holiday staple for me. This stuff always warms my sole on cold morning, with snow in the forecast for later today. Cheers all.

Good morning BA, have a great Saturday! We are supposed to get a fair bit of snow today, but it is not sounding as bad as the forecast was yesterday. Will see how the day progresses before I decide if I want to drive anywhere. I kind of wanted to go to Trader Joes to pick up some of those new beers.

Revisit after 5 years already. Really nice witbier! Flavors of lemon, orange zest, pear, apple, coriander, peppercorn, clove, and light banana/bubblegum yeast; with balanced wheat, cracker, biscuit doughy malts; herbal, floral, grassy, and yeasty earthiness. Mild herbal bitterness, yeast spiciness, and wheat/tang tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; great creamy/bready wheat creaminess, and slight spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Slightly increasing bitter/spicy dryness. Refreshingly drinkable. A bit better than I remember. Perfect balance of malt, spice, and yeast character. Really spot on stuff. Will definitely buy again.

Always amazing, though not as hazy as last year. Flavors of huge grapefruit, tangerine, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with wheat, bready, light honeyed malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced bready/grainy malt and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Crisp/drying finish and never astringent on bitterness. Amazing juicy, vibrant, and dank hop profile; refreshingly drinkable for an IPA. Mosaic and Equinox hops are my favorite of all time. They have been changing around the hops every year; but as long as those two stay, I don't care much. Got 3 packs this year, may get a 4th.

Fantastic as usual! Flavors of big toasted coconut, milk chocolate, cocoa, caramel, vanilla, cream, toffee, dark bread, marshmallow, and light coffee. Light balancing roast bitterness against sweetness; with an amazing creamy/silky/velvety medium body; light touch of sticky/chalky roast character and dryness. Glad it was easier to find this year. Definitely my top favorite coconut beer, but there are plenty others I buy more often. Wish this was year round. I bought a full case worth of 4 packs this year lol. This, Born Yesterday, and Xocoveza are my top big buy beers of the season.

Today's massive new beer review. This was really good. Zero head retention or lacing as expected. Crystal clear appearance. Flavors of big caramel, brown sugar, toffee, vanilla, rum, toasted oak, cinnamon, pepper, raisin, plum, fig, date, pear, apricot, apple, and light molasses. Similar muted aromas, with mild increasing booze as it warms. Light-moderate rum/oak tannin spiciness on the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full body; balanced silky/slick/syrupy malts and rum/oak tannins in the mouthfeel. Light-moderate increasing tannin dryness. No cloying sweetness. Increasingly warming 20% with some booze, but not too heavy. Pretty smooth slow sipper. Getting much better as it warms. No doubt the rum barrel is HUGE with this. Drinks more like actual rum than a beer, but maybe that was what they were going for. Nice complexities from oak, malt, and some yeast fruits. Really unique, but enjoyable. 3.73

The new DSO album is fucking amazing. They got a new vocalist, so there aren't any opera vocals anymore; but they are still jamming the same swing metal style with brass and stuff. I am addicted, probably going to be listening to it all week now.

    Morning BA

The snow just started falling. Starting things off with a vanilla bean blend.

Wife and kid are still upstairs sleeping.

I'm downstairs, alone, in peace and quiet, catching up on some DVR goodness, including a short Eagles documentary. Planning to reconnect with the first couple albums this weekend.

I’m envious of all of this snow talk. It’s bone dry in Kansas and temps have been in the 50’s for the last month. :slight_frown:

Middle of the road "good" for me. I bought the winter variety pack to split with a buddy for some relatively inexpensive easy drinking, and it serves its purpose. It's not the most robust of porters but opens up a bit as it warms. Just enough vanilla.

The reason that the English Premier League is the greatest league on earth is that the 19th place team can beat the 3rd place team, but don’t be mistaken this is not a parity league. Disappointing start to vacation, I guess I’ll drink. Depressing music for depressing times.

At almost 15%, I think this is the highest abv canned beer I've ever had, it's a nice kickstart for a day off and a good prelude for my 1,000th rated beer, which will be enjoyed tonight.

    Happy Saturday, Advocates!
