Next in the Leo vs. Ursus series, and it looks like the return of Wookie Jack:

Shouldn't an Imperial Black IPA be called DARTH VADER!

For good reason. :stuck_out_tongue: Not a big fan of black IPAs but I'll pick up a 4 pack.

Wookey Jack is pretty much the only black IPA I ever cared about. But, still, can't say it made any difference that it had been discontinued.

Wookie Jack always made me angry - I’d either get a bad-tasting draft (bar’s fault) or get either a way past its prime 4-pack or way overpriced one.

I’d love to re-visit on a clear slate. Love me a Hoppy Porter!!!

god is good, I kinda figured the death of wookie jack would't last, you can't keep a beer like that down.

    Should be a good one.

Not sure I understand this. Wookie jack was mid price range like $60 bucks a case. This series of beer is averaging $20 a 4 pack. I will pass.

Nope. Wookus is appropriate. Sounds like they got it right.

Glad to see it return...and in pint cans!

This is so cool, should be out shortly. Will be snagging a small supply.

That's how much you're getting charged? That's brutal. They've been like $13/4-pack around here, give or take.

I've been impressed with Firestone Walker's Leo v. Ursus series so far. I'll definitely be picking this up even if I never had the original Wookie Jack.

If it hits distros quick enough, I may get it in time to bring a can to see Star Wars, which feels oddly appropriate.

Carton Epitome has rekindled my interest in hoppy black ales recently. It’s a style that I find difficult to refine but Wookey was among the few that I really enjoyed. Great to see one of the best in style making a comeback! Would love to see Stone SSR return as well

I've also paid $4.99/can for both the Adversus and the Fortem (haven't found the Inferos yet) at Total Wine & More. I'd imagine you'd get a slight discount buying the 4-pack but I think it's because of the distance it's traveled, and possibly another distributor getting their hands on it.

Yep, I thought that too! My Costco usually carries the 4 packs at $11-$13.

Hope they get this one soon!

That sucks! (TW does mark up singles pretty bad, for what it's worth). Makes me thankful for the more affordable prices out here. I ain't buying brewery-only $20 four-packs, and I ain't buying them from a Total Wine either:slight_smile:

I'm wondering if they're using the exact same recipe as before. Doesn't seem to fit the experimental nature of the Leo Vs. Ursus series.
