I love me some Stagg, truly the best bourbon I've ever had, but at "just" 127.2 proof (or is that 129.2 proof?), does that bottle contain the same wicked magic as the classic high 130s to low 140s bottlings? I certainly wouldn't mind the opportunity to find out.

 

A good amount of Baptista and Triple Baptist at TW Woodbury when I was there this afternoon.

 

I have no idea. I would guess ~$100. Ale Jail posted this an hour and a half before they closed. There is a chance it survived to the end of the night. Ale Jail is obviously not known for its spirits selection.

 

No doubt, still have an unopened 2012 and 2013... big boy bourbon indeed

 

I've only had Stagg Jr. to date and I absolutely love it. I'd get bottle at the right price instead of paying something absurd like $40-$50 for 1-2oz at a whiskey bar. Meetings tomorrow may interfere with a trip to St. Paul tomorrow though....looks like the dog may need an "emergency vet visit".

 

I'd probably love Stagg Jr too if I hadn't had Stagg. I'm not saying that to knock you or Stagg Jr (a darn good bourbon), just saying Stagg is on another level. It was only a decade or so ago that the high end of Buffalo Trace's lineup (Stagg, Handy, Eagle Rare 17, Sazerac 18, etc. -- even the Pappies to a lesser degree) would sit for months at about $50 a bottle on the top shelf in the southeast corner at Blue Max. Oh how I wish I had invested in a few cases back then.

 

Note: Scott’s Liquor in Saint Paul got Stagg Jr. today. I’m not sure about the price. Liquor Barrel in Saint Paul had it for just $50. If you end up in Saint Paul, you can get the whole family.

 

I'd be willing to bet that Ale Jail got 1 or 2 bottles at most. And I'm very certain it's already gone.

 

Bourbon demand is night and day even from 5 years ago. My best purchase is EH Taylor Tornado... bought it for ~$70 at Chicago Lake Liquors 2012ish, it’s a $1,000+ bottle today. Could have bought a case!

 

Imagine if you had bought $70 in Bitcoin instead. You'd be a millionaire now!

There were a few Willettized at Apple Valley Liquor 1 &3 as of about 8PM last night, limit 1. Bourbon Paradise as well.

 

Still plenty of Bourbon Paradise at Heritage this morning. They have New Belgium Geisha as well.

BA Ten Fidy was available at Surdyk's as of 10:30am. $13 / can and looked like no limit. I saw about 5-6 cans still on the shelf (not sure if they have more cases). Baptista was also still available, as was CW BA stout.
