As much as I like the cover band name, I think bringing up Sixpence None the Richer may get you doused with acid rain by the Dark Lord.

Don’t you normally break up after the abortion?

Well I had chemtrail on draft and someone opened their fvm and gave me a pour. My friends have another hanjee and fvm so I won’t miss out on any of the beers.

Would be interested in your thoughts on the FVM when you have it again, with all these conflicting reports

I think the biggest issue is that 16 FVM was so good, and 17 FVM was so “different” I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it either. I would buy low and sit on it for a while, it might age nicely. I thought BADL 17 was the real value pick this year, it never gets the hype but it’s great. I like Handjee, but it’s really really sweet. Here’s hoping I get Vintage regular dark lord again this year!!

Having had it fresh from the bottle at dark lord day I really enjoyed it. A bit too sweet but that to be expected from dark lord. The other bottle is scheduled to be opened late next month.

Guys I just realized the title of this thread is simply Dark Lord 2018 which only refers to the 2018 vintage of Dark Lord, it doesn't actually refer to the event Dark Lord Day. Looks like we gotta start over...

I see Vintage Dark Lord bottles in my future. After getting my group A tickets last year, all I did for the couple of months leading up to DLD was bitch to my friends about how pissed I was that Three Floyds decided to randomize variants after ticket purchase. Even when one of my friends offered me a nice protective sleeve for whatever variant bottle I receive, I snapped back 'what's the point?! I'm going to get bullshit vintage DLs anyway!'... and then both my girlfriend and I got Marshmallow Handjees in our commemorative tote bags.

I deserve the vintages this year just for that.

I bumped the table while getting my bag, guy gave me a dirty look and handed me a bag with Vintage Dark lord. My friend who I went with got Handjee, so at least it wasn’t a total loss.

I still feel like a reckoning is coming after I got FVM 16 in Group B. That's probably still the best beer I ever had and I didn't suffer the consequences last year.

It was easy enough to see where the vintage bags were (and stand on your tiptoes like my shorty). No one forced you to go to a table or take a bag, it was pretty chill in there, aside from the insane rush of adrenaline, which I still never seem to be able to avoid.

Just don't put your hands on those straps until you are certain of that wax color and bottle count!

That's good advice. Granted by the time I was in there, the vision was kind of blurry and I had issues counting up 5 or 6. In some instances I saw as many as 12 bottles in a tote bag.

Haha, not how it worked out for the guy in front of me. He saw the vintages that someone was trying to hand him, and veered to a different person. Someone working the tables starting yelling at him and he started yelling back. Finally, he was told he got his original bag or he would get nothing and be kicked out. He took the vintages and was real salty about it.

I got FvM. My buddy got vintages.

You can try and make it right by giving me one of the bottles. Small price to pay for a clean conscience.

If I recall correctly the vintage bottles were due to infection right?

We'll likely not see tote bags with vintage bottles in them this year?
