DKML. I thought what Founders did with this was nothing short of amazing. An easy-drinking, extremely high ABV malt liquor that is not overly sweet or boozy, that has no trace of fusel alcohol nastiness, and that possesses a pleasant bourbon / barrel character is a thing of beauty.
I was off the charts on this one as well.

I've only reviewed 7 beers. It's just not my thing and honestly - I almost never ever read beer reviews. I prefer to try myself as I know my palate isn't the same as others (add in the differences in distro, distance to brewery, freshness etc - I'd rather buy a beer and find out first hand) but looking at my 7 - I have 3 that are double digit rDev + so I guess they're "underrated" for me:

Barrel Roll:Galaxy Gardens by Hangar 24 (Not super fresh - was a gift from my uncle in CA at a family reunion in MI)
Madam Rose by Goose Island (reviewed in 2013)
Double Trouble by Founders (reviewed in 2013)

People don't rate to style on this site, so unless it's an over the top flavor bomb it's under rated here. Don't believe me? Go look at top rated pilsners or kellerbier.

I had it on tap before, I thought it was too hoppy and too bitter. Both flavors dominated any hope for malt balance.

I'll add, that if its a better crafted lager or a high quality beer from Europe, it's also probably underrated.

-Magic Hat #9 (cheap and abundant, plus it's delicious)
    - Ballast Point Sea Rose (easy drinking. summer beer)
    - Sierra Nevada Tropical Torpedo
    - Founders All Day (low cal and cheap, also pretty decent)
    -Dogfish SeaQuench
    - Sierra Nevada Snow Pack (yes the entire pack, great value)
    - Ballast Point Unfiltered Sculpin (Great beer, regardless if some people think it shouldn't exist)

Miller Lite. It's at least an average light lager, and probably better than that. It's rated here as a 2.19. I gave it a 3.19, and I have a positive 45+ rdev.

I'll give my canned answer that I keep handy for this question whenever it comes up: almost any European style is underrated here except Belgians, with special attention to English, Czech, and German styles.

I keep bringing home 6 pack after 6 pack of Samuel Adams Cream Stout. I must like it. Not a heavyweight champion, but a solid welterweight.

Just came here to post this...

Pretty much any of the English, German, and Czech beers that were commonly found on the shelves 15-20 years ago. When I see these beers fresh I always buy them, and am always impressed by how well done they are. Specifically coming to mind are Fuller's ESB and London Pride, Spaten Lager, and Pilsner Urquell.

I am well over the rdev on a lot of BMC products even though most are scored in the 2-3 range.

I rate on a scale where 1 is the worst imaginable, 1.5 is still disgusting, 2.0 is not good, 2.5 is below average, 3.0 is average...etc. and the there used to be a drinkability score rather than an overall score at the end. A lot of these products look the same as a good German lager or pilsner...so there's that. I guess I am saying I don't like these beers but they aren't disgusting either.

Traditional European beer (outside of sour beer and saisons) isn't held in that high of a regard with today's "in the know" beer geeks.

Which is a total shame, considering it is some the best beer produced IMO. Clean, balanced and delicate beer truly is a beautiful thing.

I think it's always a beautiful thing. It just takes people that are new to the game a while to realize that it doesn't need to be cool to be awesome.
