Still looking. I guess you could say I'm chasing this one. Too many stops on my way home and a few detours.

    Philly burbs, anyone seen this?

    Enjoy

Per their youtube video of the beer, this beer is a blend of stout aged 3,6, and 9 months in barrels...I'd assume having a higher percentage of 3 month keeps the cost down. Vid link -->

Thats a really good point. It would make sense that featuring the whiskeys brand name all over the packaging would serve to subsidize the final cost somehow.

did a side by side tasting with westified/willetized this weekend. 6 out of 7 of us preferred the willetized. way more barrel aged chocolatey goodness to go with the rich coffee

I really enjoy the willet version, I think it a hair more than hi-west. It definitely has more barrel present, but majority of the same great tastes. Worth picking up if you get the chance!

"Indiana got 40 cases for the state" is what I was told by multiple people who are supposed to know these things. Almost everyone sold it as singles, just under $3/bottle out the door. A few places messed up and sold 6ers. I got 2 bottles.

Just like last year, this beer was good, but nothing earth shattering. Did a side by side with last year's High Westified. The base beer is good not great, barrel aging is nice but didn't make me weak in the knees like some of them do. The best thing was being able to taste the differences in barrels across the same base beer.

I really think they should do a boxed 4pk set of the same coffee stout aged in 4 different whiskey/bourbon barrels that all come out of barrels at the same time so the consumer really gets to see the differences the barrels impart across the same base beer. THAT would be cool.

I found some and it was only $9.50 tax included a six pack. That is a crazy price.

I felt exactly the same way. I thought it was good, but like you, I wasn't wowed! It doesn't have the polish of say BCBS or KBS... and that's perfectly fine. The barrel character/oak and heat was a little more pronounced (and rougher) than I recall High West having. The QPR is still excellent (as usual). I'll probably buy a little more just to have on hands during the winter months, but I am not going to go crazy trying to get more.

All in all a good BA stout, but I must say, drinking this sort of made want to just drink whiskey instead.

I was able to score two 6 packs. One at local grocery store and another at a local liquor store for $11.99 a 6 packs. Crazy price for a great BA stout!

any day now if they haven't received

I'm in central PA and the wholesaler in my area said they were supposed to get yesterday but they did not get enough to sell in house

their order got cut and are only receiving 30 and pre-sold to their better accounts before the order got cut so their all spoken for as far as retailers receiving

had my local distributor put me down for a case when they receive

last year, the wholesaler didn't get any high westified so I had someone get me some in another market

    @Crumps_Brother @FatBoyGotSwagger

Where are you guys at in PA? Breskis in HBG got a ton, but sold out. Oakhurst in HBG only got a case, but also sold that. I wouldn't be surprised if you see more. Sabatinis in NEPA stated they are getting it this week/weekend. When they get anything Lagunitas, they get a ton.
