CBS Bottles in NYC

Just left Whole Foods Williamsburg they have about 2.5 cases out on the floor.

 

Whole Foods Bowery has a couple cases on the floor

 

Whole Foods Harlem had 2 cases or so out in the refrigerated section on Sunday.

 

Don't suppose there are any more tappings of this around NYC? Or bottles that have miraculously lasted this long? Just went to Astoria Bier and Cheese and asked if they had bottles and they said they got them Monday and were sold out within five hours. Rather irritated that they didn't announce it on Beermenus.com or through any social media platform.

 

Greenwood Park, that beer garden/bocce spot is tapping next Wednesday. I'm planning to go so I can cellar my one bottle until my birthday next summer, and it also happens to be the night of my employer's holiday party, which while well stocked with liquor never has good beer, making this the perfect nightcap.

 

Top Hops has a CBS event tonight

 

If the bottles last until December 16th you can get them 20% of at whole foods.

 

I thought the Top Hops tapping is Saturday, December 9 at noon, but I could be wrong.

There were eight cases at the Gowanus WF last Saturday (thanks to this thread, bought a couple bottles), probably a very good chance that they are still around. Give them a call and check, they are right by the growler station. Though: take care to enunciate, I called Williamsburg WF and asked if they had Canadian Breakfast Stout, and the guy was like COMEDIAN breakfast stout, never heard of it. Hmm . . .

 

Oh man I forgot about that! So much for cutting down on buying beer this month...

Wow I thought $40 was bad, but at $70 this HAS to be the worst I've ever seen for '17

 

For anyone in LI - Monarch has about 7 cases left at $29.99 a bottle.

 

Anyone want to speculate whether any of the CBS tappings around town this week will be crowded or mellow?

 

Being tomorrow is cold as hell, and the spot not particularly close to a subway, I'm hoping Greenwood is relatively chill and planning to drop in.

 

As mellow as it can possibly be at Carmine today.

Indeed. Bottles were sold for $29.99 (I think) and it didn't seem like folks were buying those.

 

For anyone still looking to try it, CBS (and KBS 15/16/17) all on draft right now at Mission Dolores.

 

Same thing at Beer Authority.

 

Bottoes are still available. Stores turned boxes away and some bars/stores will be getting replenished/more boxes this week and next.

 

Finishing up a bottle now, which was provided to me by the one and only @RobNewton (thanks again!). Fantastic stout for sure, and am definitely tasting a sticky maple sweetness underlying the beer throughout. But, is it incredible enough to be worth $25 (which seems to be the minimum in NYC, at least)? No. I could see myself getting this on draft next year? Sure. But would I pick up a bottle again if it comes out next year? I doubt it? Will I continue to ask myself questions and answering them? No.
