Peach is a flavor that has been too subtle in beers I have had. I am intrigued because Stone is known for really delivering with what is promised on the label but I am wary because of the peach beers I have had in the past.

I'll pick it up if it is convenient or if I see it on tap somewhere.

Isn't peach OK because it's a stone fruit? Seriously, I can see why some of you think this is the pits.

Not so much surprised as unwilling to let it slide. That said, your advice is sound and what I should do.

I guess Stone is doing well enough to be able to afford alienating millions of customers. They won't be getting any more of my money.

Too bad, because they made some good beer and I enjoyed drinking it.

I am not a Trump supporter but this stuff never sits right with me. I suppose, though, with so many beers requiring so many names that we can't like them all. Sports and beer are two things I do to escape the 24 hour barrage of politics so I will probably not be trying this one. Political beer labels don't solve any problems. In fact I would say it is even more divisive in a time when we don't need it.

another reason why stone has become less and less relevant as the industry matures.

I agree...to use craft beer as vehicle for getting political is going a bit far...perhaps taking yourself too seriously?!

I would go to great lengths for Stone for them to return to their brands circa 2013-2015 when you had brands that put them on the map:
    - (original) Ruination
    - Imperial Russian Stout
    - Old Guardian
    - Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale
    - RuinTen
    - Oaked Arrogant Bastard
    - Depth-Charged Double Bastard
    - Lukcy Basartd
    - Levitation Ale
...oh, and the original, silk-screened bottles were also a nice touch.

My only favorite of the 'new' Stone World Order has to be Mocha IPA...that stuff is pretty outrageous. Dogfish Head is making similar changes, but I will give them a pass since they still produce Palo Santo Marron.

If this beer and the message behind it bother you, I would advise that you should start drinking Budweiser.

I have no issue with it. I actually encourage every product developer and owner to make their beliefs as explicit as possible, so that I can know where their true loyalties lie. Most of the big boys (and I mean outside of beer here) would rather hide behind lobbyists and unrestricted political contributions, so you never really know who/what is getting your money.

So the hell with it, let me know. I hadn't purchased Stone in a while, but I'll seek this out, because why not?

RuinTen sells but everything else on your list was a permanent fixture on Total Wine and Wegmans shelves, eventually being marked down or possibly even destroyed. I REALLY liked the Bastard variations series (and Levitation which was more or less: "Bastard Session Strong Ale"), they never sold and they made so many of them, I recall getting slightly out of date mixed 4x22oz for like $9.99 and bought a half dozen, and this was even a few years ago. I seee a lot of retailers even giving up on 6x16oz regular Bastard.

Hopefully IRS comes back in the pricing and format like Xocoveza. They clearly make a great margin on the 22oz seaonsals/ one-offs, which is why they keeep coming out with fruit added IPAs over and over, and EnjBy. Neither of those are remarkable to me, and always pass.

    @Prince_Casual,
In short, Stone was ahead of their time. I agree with a lot of what you said...but (IMO) Stone was too aggressive pushing those beers into the market which was (at that point) a bit of a leap for the craft beer novice (not withstanding the fact that many of those beers were only offered in the 22oz format). and they produce A LOT of those beers to the point where they did in fact sit on many a shelf.

I think that in 2018, Stone's OG portfolio would sell much better today than a few years ago. However, they have chosen to diverge from their path with dubious results. I work in the industry and NO PERSON talks about Stone these days. For me, the last great beer they released was 'Depth Charged Double Bastard Ale.' That was absolutely magnificent.

I missed not having RuinTen last year (2017)...but I what I really miss now is the 'old' Stone. I am not on-board with the changes in their portfolio (save for Mocha IPA).

    Cheers!

If you're the type of person who gets all up in a froth about a someone expressing a political opinion different from yours, i don't understand how you're able to go through life without having a nervous breakdown.

To make post somewhat about beer: I like some Stone stuff, but rarely find myself buying it anymore. This won't make me change that one way or another.

Agree with you here. I miss their original pale ale. To me, it was their best beer.

Saw I'm Peach on the shelf yesterday and grabbed it immediately. This thread has done a lot for this beer. Haven't tried yet but heard it was malty/west coast style.
