I often wonder Foster's Lager only comes in the 25.4oz oil can configuration and not smaller configurations like 12oz or 160z bottles/cans. I remember long ago seeing it in bottles.

What area of MI are you in? Eastown, the distributor for the west side of Detroit dropped 12oz format about three years ago so we can only get the Ale and the Lager in "oil cans".

Why are you looking for Fosters in a bottle? The oil can is half the fun (more than half the fun).

When MillerCoors first started brewing it in the US (previously it had been brewed in Canada by Molson for the US market) they bottled it - here's a label from 2007:

Agree. The actual choking down of the beer is the not-so-fun part. One of the worst beers out there, IMO. Up (down?) there with the stuff a friend brought me back from Cuba...

I recall reading recently in one of these forums that the Aussies don't even drink this beer.

We get them in the smaller sizes which I presume are 12 oz though I didn't check.

I used to see it in 12 ounce cans and bottles.

It's still a guilty favourite of mine though I never had it or saw it in Australia (New South Wales) when I lived there.

That oil can was a conundrum though. I looked cool but---you had to drink the thing fast enough to keep it from getting hot and the only way it was palatable was ice cold>>>that big thing had to go down fast.

    Awful.....(shudders)

Our solution to the big can was to share it.

I tried this once. No one else would drink it. That said, it amounts to only a couple of "beers."

Fosters lost me many years ago when I read "Contains artificial colors" on the label. What kind of beer needs to add coloring?
