Currently big U.S. companies (namely Amazon, FB, Apple, Google) are attempting to gain a monopoly over many products and services. If Amazon started buying beer brands, would you still buy their beer, or would you begin home brewing? (if you don't already brew at home)

If it was good beer, I'd buy it.

Yeah, tough choice...but for the love of beer I guess I'd probably buy it too.

I agree, if it's good buy it. I have no plans to brew my own, I'm too picky.

Noticed one of our local breweries ( Double Barley) is now selling on Amazon. And they claim 2 hour delivery within Raleigh and Charlotte.

Wouldn't that be more of a reason to brew your own than not to?

Nope - same reason I don't do woodworking, etc. I'd never be satisfied with the results. But - the brewing process intrigues me, so if I knew someone home-brewing, I'd ask to look over their shoulder as they brew.

It doesn’t matter. We’ll all be slaves to the corporate overlords soon enough. We’ll have to shut up and just try to enjoy our “soylent beer.”

Probably not regularly. Nothing against them or the people that would be running those operations but the beer I drink most often is typically very local. Small, family breweries with rather limited distribution or my own homebrew.

They make good beer and I've little reason to go elsewhere. My local brewery that gets the lion share of my dollars these days - their tap room seats about 20 people. It's a converted garage. Now they've started to bottle some things but still - I just don't see Amazon or anyone else scooping them up so I don't see myself becoming a beer patron of said conglomerate.

A big part of the beer-buying experience for me is browsing in a well-stocked shop and discovering a treasure or two. I seldom go to the store for a particular beer unless it's a special release. I'll pass on Amazon. (Unless they're delivering fresh Tree House stuff. Then all bets are off.)

I find it unlikely they could meet my standards, but if they did I would def. buy their beer. My standards are, is it better (not 'just as good', better), cheaper, and fresher than my locals?

Like many, I use Amazon to buy things and I would have no reason not to buy good beers delivered quickly enough. I buy DVDs from them so not beer because they are a Big corporation?

Amazon is taking over about lot of things. I am not against progress, if that is progress.

Fresh, cost competitive, quality beer delivered quickly? Yeah, I could go for that.

Just imagine the cool packaging beer would come in if sold on their site. I was given a beer of the quarter (4 deliveries throughout the year) and it came in a sweet bottle package that i saved just in case for trades.

I probably wouldn't boycott any beer brands owned by Amazon but I'd seek out others before picking up anything owned by Amazon, kind of how I treat anything owned by AB Inbev.

As long as they only invested < 25% in the brewery, 'cause any more and it wouldn't be craft.

Not according to the Brewers Association "Independent" clause in their "Craft Brewer" definition:
...unless, by buying breweries, Amazon then becomes an "alcohol industry member" ?

See, I feel - as some adjuncts once did for "craft" beer* - my comment "enhanced" your post's poking fun of the Brewers Association.
