    1000 IBU by Mikkellar.

There are literally little pieces of hops floating around in the beer.

IMO 120 minute is too over the top just to be over the top. If you really want an IPA that grabs you by the boo boo and gives you a great dank hop explosion, but is still "normal" then go for this

    Dogfish Head 90 Minute
Dogfish Head Flesh and Blood (so acidic)
    Golden Road Wolf Among Weeds
    Spellbound IPA

    These are memorably aggressively bitter.

Surprised no votes for hop devil as I find that to be pretty piney bitter for 50 ibu. Palate wrecker is pretty unenjoyable and when I first got into ipas I though 90 minute was horrific.

    I do not enjoy these:

    Palate Wrecker
    Hoptimum
    Hopsickle

Funny I found 90 to be easier bitter side than 60 when I started out.

I agree with the 60 Minute over the 90 as the impact of bitterness goes.

And for some reason it brings to mind Smuttynose Finestkind. I used to alternate between the two way back when; maybe it's time to do it again. I could go for a beer or two like that right about now.

It seems I have gone back to the West Coast and then the East Coast on my more recent travels and avoiding NE this time of year. A 90 is in order for sure.

Surly Abrasive - Name pretty much sums up the resulting mouthfeel.

Surly's original brewhouse was a former factory that manufactured....industrial abrasives.

I believe it was owned by the father of Surly's founder, but I'm too lazy to ask Google about it, so I could be wrong.

Ya know you could add just about most any session IPA to the list. They're horribly balanced and all kinds of bitter with sacrificing the malt to lower the Abv. I find them painfully bitter and very unpleasant, you want palate fatigue suck a few of these down. Defeats the purpose of session IMO.

Not as extreme as it used to be, but fresh Smuttynose Finest Kind was as close to eating grapefruit pith as you could get.

Maybe my taste is tainted at the moment given that I have been primarily drinking NEIPAs as of late, but I found Melvin 2X4 to be pretty aggressive (in a great way, really enjoyed it).

The only point in something like this is to make overly bitter beer. That's not a good look and if anyone says they enjoy something like that, they're probably lying.

Your levels of contempt and commitment to it are admirable. I'll bet the folks who made fun of see through beers back in the day had nothing on you :sunglasses:

And I will add Rushing Duck double hopped anniversary edition War Elephant to the mix of most aggressive beers. It was delicious too.

Not being a mind reader I can't tell if someone is lying or not, but I've seen enough about how the sense of taste operates to know that what Cilurzo of Russian River called "Lupuliun Threshold Shift" (or LTS) is a real phenomenon and that people can become so adapted to high levels of bitterness that they aren't picking up the bitterness and need an even higher level of bitterness to be able to get it in the flavor profile.
