I would love to see the vikes go to the super bowl and lose in there own brand new billion dollar stadium. If people didn’t learn from 98 they’d learn from that

Toppling Goliath 'King Sue' bombers announced as available in a tweet from South Lyndale Liquors, and I stopped by France 44 and bought a bottle. Limit at France 44 for 'King Sue' is two bottles per transaction.

Looks like some Cantillon is making it to the shelves at Heritage...

If you are looking to pay $100-300 for a bottle of vintage Cantillon or $450 for a Westy 12 set, Heritage is your one-stop Shop.

They'll move quickly even at those prices (not in minutes, but in hours, days tops, I'd guess). More power to Heritage for getting near market value. If you really want 'em, now's your chance to prove it financially.

The issue is these are even above secondary prices. They could have at least checked BeerBlackBook.

    Jake,
I don't normally respond on here but I will when someone claims I am charging above secondary prices. If you go to belgianbeershop.com and price out Cantillon Lou Pep Framboise for example, the 2014 vintage is $191.48. I have a Btl of 2005 at $249.99 $58 for Ten years of proper storage and care is not excessive IMO, and I understand if you do and respect your decision not to purchase them.

Why are you condoning stores selling at (or above) secondary value?

Saw this at 1010 Washington today in Minneapolis. They had maybe a dozen singles of the BA version too, if you're looking for that.

An item is worth no less than someone is willing to pay for it, and I have little doubt people are willing to pay for those items at those prices. Heritage is fully licensed to sell those products (in a way that many sellers in the secondary market are not), so it's all on the up and up legally. Heritage makes good money, and somebody who clearly highly values the product gets the beer. Win-win. Also, a bunch of people who didn't have that particular luxury good got the chance to purchase it,* revealed their preference for $100 (or more) over a bottle, still don't have it, and are no better or worse off than they were previously. Econ 101. All that said, I bet Heritage could get higher prices still. Those prices will scare off most but not all potential customers.

    * Unlike when beers are intentionally priced well below the market clearing price and only the most plugged in people with the most flexible schedules get a shot at the beer, even if they value it far less than others do.

And this is what going on the internet and making a fool of yourself looks like. Well done, sir.

Those who have been around for a while know that Ed (Heritage) is legit, one of the best beer guys in the business.

I have fond memories of Heritage from when I lived in St. Paul - but Ed's saintliness or lack thereof isn't the issue. I would hate if this were to become a trend. We have enough individuals selling beer at insane prices without retail stores getting into the "secondary market".

If you look at all of these Cantillons in the picture above with the exception of Lou Pepe, the other 4 were available and on the shelf 2008-2010 they sold at retail for $19 -$29, i remember buying several so cost had had to be 20% less at least.

I agree. I'm not angry, nor offended by the store going about their business, but they certainly secondary rates and not retail prices. At the brewery or shops in Europe, the regular lineup goes for $4-7 and the more limited ones were $15-18(I believe the two kinds of Lou Pepe were vintage 2014 as well when I was there in early Nov).

I'm not sure how this is any different than Surdyk's charging $36/bottle for Darkness a while back. It's just a more limited and aged beer going for a much higher rate.

A better comparison would be the price of 2005 Darkness now (OK, 2007).
