The 2012 Westy 12 brick is going for literally half the price on MBC. I really don’t care if a liquor store wants to jack up the cost of rare or vintage beer. The vast majority of the cellar stuff Heritage has out right now have more than reasonable markups, but for some of this stuff, people should just buy it off of Facebook.

 

Sad to see what Beer Geek Christmas has turned into...

 

I was in the other day and saw the cellar section for BGXmas. I really liked that setup, and thought the prices were all reasonable. As for big prices for these big beers... if there’s a buyer, why not?

 

What else did/do they have. I missed out, just saw one twit about cantillon

 

SLL had 2 bottles of Abraxas left as of 30 minutes ago. Was surprised to see it there.

 

Saw that, also picked up 1 bottle , was very surprised, & happy.

 

Thomas Liquors had a couple bottles of cocoa coconut narwhal as of 5pm-ish today for those looking.

 

I’m sure my kids will understand the notable lack of presents this year because Santa needed some vintage goozies.

For anybody interested in the Pryes barleywine, I picked up a couple yesterday that were numbered in the mid-100s out of 250. It was good - very subtle for the style. A good excuse to finally check out the place for me.

 

For those of you in the east metro, Village in Lake Elmo currently has: 12/21 Hooey, 12/5 Blissful, Praire Bourbon Paradise, Surly BA Ten, BA Pentagram, 2016 & 2017 Darkness, Loonidragon Pt2, Crasher in the Rye, Exocism at Sunset, most of the Central Waters BA series (Scotch, Barleywine, Stout, Quad), a couple Founders Imperial Stout 4pks, and one bottle of Abraxas hiding in the back room. Whisper some sweet nothings in my ear and I might even part with the BA Bible Belt or Vanilla Noir I've been hoarding.

Banter and self-promotion aside, the 12/21 batch of Hooey is pretty damned delicious.

 

Oh yeah, King Sue limit two.

 

Looks like decorah pseudo sue is all over Chicago and Madison area... looking forward to it if anyone sees it!

 

My attention and daily allotment went straight to Abraxas (only bottle). I remember seeing BA Ten Fidy but I don’t remember anything else. It was my first time seeing Abraxas on a shelf!
