Southern Prohibition Devil's Harvest is excellent. They changed the recipe and it worked - obliviously.

Interesting list. Respectable. Will check out trying to acquire a few if the BA ratings are solid to go with the article's taste test findings.

That Creature Comforts Tritonia is amazing, was lucky enough to try that in a trade. The Burial Separation of Light and Darkness is great as well.

This is just a summary of the #1's of the previous lists, correct?

Their methodology has clear limitations, but at least the articles are upfront about those limitations. No comprehensive method is practical with the number of US breweries, and these are more credible than most "top beers" lists.

Haven't had any and I don't believe they're available anywhere around here. But that's as I would expect, the best beers are not necessarily widely distributed. I was surprised that TH KBBS didn't make the list of 144 BA Stouts and was not even mentioned, but perhaps they couldn't get any.

I have had exactly none of the beers on that list. I can name plenty of beer I have had that I think is excellent, outstanding and world class but frankly none of it is "the BEST". I hate lists like that. Please review all the beer you can and you will see what I mean.

I agree drinkers can have a favorite beer but there are no best beers.

The one style I feel qualified to comment on, BBA Imperial Stout, I have to agree with choice of Fremont BBA Dark Star.

I guess I've had fewer than thirty American Hefeweizen, but their choice for best, Live Oak, is also mine.

I had only one of those 12 beers, Live Oak Hefeweizen, and that beer is excellent.

The only US brewed Hefeweizen that I like better is Straub Hefeweizen.

    Cheers!

Now of them this year, but back in 2007 I had a Live Oak Hefe, and a Scaldis Noel.

    Cheers!

I'm shocked that no one (especially the more seasoned BA's) has had Scaldis Noel. It's an outstanding classic that should be available almost everywhere.

Damn straight! It's my personal fave as well, I even featured it in last week's Belgian Christmas Ale tasting.
I haven't had that one, but did have a few of their other beers and was very impressed with what they're putting out.

I had Scaldis Noel 12/15/15. I didn't review it, but I did enjoy it. I'll have to find another bottle to review.

Sadly, I haven't even heard of any of them. Of course I would love to try them.
