Oddly enough, my amazing wife managed to wash dark lord day off of that shirt. Sadly, I managed to have a dark lord/chocolate rain grilling session that put some stout and BBQ love back on it.

 

You have to talk her into the leggings this year lol. Dark lord down one leg 2018 down the other.

Do they have a cheaper DD ticket option? Can you get in without purchasing a ticket? Girlfriend, who doesn't drink, often goes to similar stuff like this with me without buying a ticket.

And btw, there is nothing else like this...I can't imagine someone not drinking enjoying this event.

Woohoo! An actual question and answer! Look at that everyone!!!! I’m pretty sure that they don’t actually allow sober people into DarkLord day, isn’t that why you have to drink while waiting in line?

 

The ticket does not include draft beer so technically every ticket you purchase is a $200+ DD ticket....if you choose to upgrade on site and pay per drink you can.....

Also, they play metal non stop...if you think she is going to enjoy that sober she'll make the decision for you to look for a new gf....

They’re lying to you. The cheaper ticket is clothes for fence-climbing and a good pair of running shoes.

 

Can confirm, Had a really upset stomach at DLD one year and couldn't drink. Wasn't fun.

To spur constructive conversation, what will the trendy share beer breweries be this year? Weld works and MoRe?

 

I think a fair amount of BA Pipeworks because they're relatively easy to get but still good/interesting.

Certainly More would have the buzz, but there aren't nearly as many bottles. Maybe Prop? It's certainly hot, but people may not want to give it up.

Obviously that's FIB-centric, for those traveling from out of town it's probably "hazy beer X" and CBS.

 

I’d drink a beer called “Hazy Beer X,” especially if it had an old man representing Dr Light (Proto-neckbeard, amirite?) on the label, and a sister beer called Hazy Beer Zero with a laser sword on it. And a hazy red beer with a mechanical dog. Really, I stopped caring about beer flavor a long time ago and just want to drink beers inspired by Mega Man.

Oh man, day 2 back at work after a long vacation and my brain is already melting.
