Surprised that only mosaic daydream made it through

 

They told us today dmdd was a double batch.

 

Kicking myself for only buying one 4-pack of DDH Daydream In Green. I've had Triple Cream and DDH Broccoli as well today, but Daydream is really hitting the spot right now. Such a nice combination of lemon-lime notes with the creaminess provided by the oats and lactose. Only bought this for the purpose of a revisit, but based off of this batch I'll be making this a "must buy" every time it's canned from here on out.

 

Saw a DDH Space Dream label today so that should be coming soon I assume.

 

What are early thoughts on Triple Cream? Had a taster in the taproom yesterday and didn't think it tasted as good as the last batch...maybe some time will improve?

 

Interesting, I saw someone mention somewhere that OH beers taste a little bit with some age (~1 month) on them than right away. Is there truth to this in anyone’s experience? I went yesterday and got one 4pk of each of the offerings. Not sure to start cracking them or wait.

 

Yeah, I think it will improve with age. First time I had Triple Cream the can was at least a week or two old.

My own personal method of drinking OH beers is to crack one open same day, just to see how it is out of the gate (and because of impatience), and (assuming I only have a 4-pack), drink a can one a week, and see how it changes over the course of a month. OH generally gets better with age, like a fine wine, or Linda Cardellini.

 

That's because they kept it in the taproom and the people in the warehouse thought it was sold out. I picked up my cans at noon and asked Andrew if any mosaic daydream from Thursday remained and he said it was gone so I didn't bother walking up the block to the taproom in the snow

 

Do we think the aging “rules” are different for these lactose beers? My impression of my initial Mylar Daydream cans (weekend of release) to final a month later didn’t really change, and if anything I thought the beer kinda flattened (whereas a DDH Mylar non-dairy would invariably have improved). I don’t think my stash of Mosaic DDr is gonna last long enough to test... I dunno, what’s everyone else’s thoughts?

 

I agree Mylar DD's flavor became more muted with some age. As I recall, however, my Mosaic DD improved very slightly. Probably can't extrapolate "rules" out of that, but I'll keep a tab on how my current batch of Space/Mosaic DD and Triple Cream fare over time.

 

Well, it's sold out now.

 

A month might be pushing it a bit, but I had DDH Broccoli in tap room a couple of weeks ago, it was awesome. Had a can from new batch yesterday, had a great smell, tasted very good but probably will be better in a couple of weeks. On a similar note, the SC collab is evolving quickly, tastes more complex only a week later.

 

One of my DMDD cans had no label at all, anybody ever see that?

 

It happens. Sometimes the whole four pack doesn't have the labels. @Kanger sometimes nods off on the line.
