Still sitting on a Baby Tree.

Really loved this brewery, they were one of the first I consistently bought stuff from once I got past drinking only the Stone/SN/Lagunitas-tier stuff (tier as in the stuff everyone drinks when they're just getting into craft, obviously all of those breweries still make terrific stuff) and I'll always remember them for it. And given that I'm in upstate NY and not Boston, we definitely still have some of their bottles kicking around. Gonna see what I can find.

I used to go to that place all the time, I lived right down the street in 1996-1997. Many good times had there.

I do miss PT and seeing Dann and Martha around town. Besides making some damn tasty beers, they're just really cool people.
Aside from the barleywine and maybe St Botolphs, I don't see most of their beers holding up that well... just the styles they are.
It's funny, though, I pulled a bottle of my homebrew out last week, and realized it was bottled into a reused PT bottle (I don't bother taking off labels - when they wear or wash off is fine by me.)
and realized how long they've been gone...

I am also sitting on a Fumapapa in the beer fridge and can't quite face the fact that I won't ever drink a PT beer again. Jack D'Or was my wife's favorite beer. I particularly enjoyed their Once Upon a Time collaborations with Ron Pattinson.

I ran into Dann and Martha at an Indian restaurant in Harvard Square a few months ago. They were in town for a wedding. I didn't really get a chance to talk and didn't want to bother them since they were with a group of friends, but I told them how much I missed their beer. Dann seemed a little surprised and flattered, but he shouldn't have been.

I'd be interested in hearing how they turn out if you do decide to purchase.

This, combined with the news that Enlightenment is (probably) going to be re-opening in the pacific northwest, is a real bummer for the New England beer scene. Despite the explosion of new breweries in New England, those two offered a lot of beers that no one has really replaced.

I have one last bottle of Jack D'or hanging around the back of my fridge, from their last tasting in Somerville a couple years ago...what are the odds that's still drinkable?
