Chicago Stout Releases (2018)

Cracked a Moody Tongue Bourbon Barrel Aged 12 Layer Cake tonight...pleasantly surprised, since I was NOT a fan of the BBA Chocolate Barleywine a year or so back.

Boozy, to be sure (it's 16%) but drinkable & complex; I bet a little time would do this some good. Hopefully I can track down another to lay down for a year.

And no, I did not taste all 12 layers...4-5 at most!

It looks like Warehouse Liquors in the Loop just got theirs, so I'd imagine that everyone is starting to get FW XXI now.

 

They haven't necessarily been "released" here, but here's to hoping these see some Chicagoland distro!

It happens all the time right? At Perennial and just about every other brewery? I think this just means they are only selling it out of their tasting room.

 

Clares' Thirsty should be released the 11th. Guess they're in bottles now. Gonna try to get some as I missed it last year.

How hard is this for locals to get? Is this a "line up and it sells out" or is this a Rev Deep wood series?

 

They did a presale for the bottles of Clare's on the 1st; I'm not sure if they have bottles left (I didn't try for any, since I have too much to drink already), but getting it on tap should be a sure thing if you go day one. It usually kicks relatively quickly, because it's their most popular (and easily one of their best) beer.

 

Presale sold out already. You all are gonna have to be happy getting a pour on draft.

 

Hopefully they'll take a look at what Rev did, and get us some sweet Clare's and/or Indignant cans next year!

Damn. I'm not even kind of local. Was just hoping to trade for a bottle. But, if it's limited to prese bottles only, that will trade for (I presume) way higher than I can afford.

I'll just hope for the next time it is produced.

Also, I hope someone reads the way I cut your quote and assumes this to be fact for 2019.

Edit: Also, it's good they bottled Clare's compared to the growler filling sh*tshow from last year.

In all honesty, it showed up on their page during the holidays, and I just didn't spend much time on BA, or I would've mentioned it (although I wasn't sure how many people would care).
