I also tried the Shadow Sequence, a CDA with coconut. It was more roasty and coconutty than IPA-like. Nice beer.

My wife tried Ripe and Juice Jr. And enjoyed them. I didn't try them, though.

    Not fake news. But old
news. I miss real news. And no
    news. Now that's good news.

Going back to the Fremont discussion...I asked about if the base beer for bbomb was their standard imperial ale. I was informed it was not. I believe @John_M provided an explanation (secondhand?) that base beers need to be altered to get the most out of the barrel and aging. So I am curious for discussion purposes, if GN is just putting their standard Double stack in barrels or if they tweaked it. @paulypringles

If that's true, then post the evidence which makes you believe it. Or else it's just abject and unfounded speculation. And we've got more than enough of that in our world already.

Perhaps this beer was previously released months ago (under the radar), or they pulled it, or maybe it is, in fact, forthcoming. Honestly, I don't know. I just wasn't sure why you posted something from 17+ months ago as if it were a scoop, is all. More context, and precision, never hurts.

Just to be more clear lol: Great Notion allegedly responded somewhere recently and said it might be out this Spring. I wasn't linked to anything and the place that was said isn't linkable (BTS on Facebook.)

But still a little weirded out by your post Edward; why so serious? People can't speculate here?

Anyone else think Unfounded Speculation would be a great beer name?

    Just me? Alright then.

    Agreed.

It would also work as a part of Bottle Logic's Stasis Project, next to Fundamental Observation and Backwards Compatibility.

In fact, I think it's such a great name, I'm kind of surprised some brewery hasn't used it already. However, when I ran a search, I got nothing.

    Time for the weekly update:

    1. New Brewhouse: Yay, we are psyched that as of this morning, we have 6 total tanks in our new facility on NW 28th Ave. Next week we are hoping to have the last of the fermenters in the building and stood up. We also received 2 nice cool toys for the canning line as well this week: a date stamper and sticker applicator. We can then put our rad new secret Chad Eaton designed labels on the cans and stamp the date canned on the bottom for you.

    2. Beers: New batches of Juice Jr. and Space Invader will hit taps next week as well as a cool new beer, Japanese Maple. Japanese Maple is an imperial red ale brewed with sushi rice, Japanese sea salt, maple syrup and raw cacao. For IPA heads, we have 8 hazy IPAs on tap right now. That’s a lot of hops. DDH versions of Ripe and Juice Box, plus there’s still some Dirty South, LSD, and more.

    2 Last Notes:

    • We will be closed all day/night this coming Tuesday the 9th.
    • Brunch this Sunday the 7th @ 10 am until sold out.

I've seen a lot of Chad's artwork on the walls at Great Notion. I like his style, and it's a good match for Great Notion. Thumbs up. I am very much looking forward to seeing the label art.

Hey guys, Happy Saturday! To answer a few of the questions recently:

    • @vurt - yes, that is a cool beer name
    • We are starting our new 30 bbl brewhouse off with six 30 bbl fermenters
    • Bourbon Barrel-Aged Double Stack will be released either this Spring or Summer. We have at least six Barrels filled with DS, including some Heaven Hill, some Woodford Reserve and a bunch of local Bull run barrels. Some of the beer has been aging more than a year, some 9 mos, some 6 mos, etc. our plan is to blend all the barrels together in a blending tank in our new facility and then bottle it all up. We are still just trying to decide how to release it and if we should wait until the grand opening of our new taproom this summer or not.
That's the detailed update on BBDS exclusively for you NW BA peeps!

    Today's weekly update:

New Brewhouse: We have our cellar rounding third base into home with all 6 fermenters now in house and stood up in the proper area. Next week we should see the brewdeck platform, kettle whirlpool and mash lauter tun show up which we are super excited for!

    1. Beers: If we were you, we would get down here this weekend and try the latest batch of Space Invader. It’s bonkers and tastes like citrus bubblegum! We also have new batches of Blueberry Muffin coming on tap soon and some of the other beers we’ve previously mentioned early next week: Japanese Maple and Guava Mochi. This week we also brewed something funny y’all haze heads will love: Ripe Invader! Yes!!! We combined fan-favorite hops Citra and Galaxy to make a Ripe meets Space Invader baby. Look for that in about 2 weeks!
