Can you believe it? It's already hopslam season! With the massive abundance of hopslam it shouldn't be hard to find, but share if you care!

Did anyone spot it yet? Last couple years I had great success at the Meijer location in Auburn Hills. Any idea when it will hit the stores?

I think they posted that it will start hitting this week or next. This beer is really easy to get in Chicagoland (or at least in the city), so it really shouldn't take much effort...assuming the same production levels as the past couple years.

Unfortunately for me, I'll be in a (mostly) alcohol-free period until mid-February. I'll probably grab a 6-pack and have it after that point, though.

Hopslam! The only good thing about January in Michigan! I will buy my case and mini-keg, like I always do every year.

I actually seen a few 6ers sitting on the shelf of a local store over the weekend.
A little over priced as usual...
Then just yesterday seen the post on their Facebook page that it will be shipped this week. Weird right?

I found a pack of hopslam underneath a bunch of other beers. I was sad that I forgot about it, but used it as end-of-the-night beer share fodder (for when people weren’t going to appreciate the next big bottle, but still wanted to drink). It was a big hit! Still pretty tasty.

I was so disappointed by this beer last year. It tasted like clover honey with almost no hoppy flavor. I'm going to skip this year unless reviews are overwhelmingly positive.

This may not be a popular opinion but I've never thought it was all that great a beer.

    To each their own though.

That was my thoughts last year as well. I've become less impressed with it over the past few years, so I probably won't even bother buying a single this year. Plus we seem to get it delivered here when it's almost a month old, so the maltiness has already sunk in. $20+ for a malty boozy IPA... No thanks. More for you guys.

Per my Rave rep, select accounts in the Detroit area will get it this week with everyone else getting it next week.

Yeah that's what I heard as well.
Althought a very reputable liquor shoppe I frequent had some over the weekend. So I had them hold a 6er for me till today I picked it up. Come to find out it was a year old... :disappointed:rage:
So I'm waiting till the owner comes in later tonight and see what can be done about this mix up...
Was under the impression I was getting fresh Hopslam

Does anyone know why most beers we get in WI tend to always be at least a month old? Seems even when they are released on time we still get it a month later. Hopslam included.

If I see it priced at $17 a sixer like last year, I'll walk right on by!

I’m with you on this... I usually track down a single each year to see if I find it more enjoyable but that’s about it. I do love the Hopslam snifter I got a few years ago if that counts for anything.

Last year I think a buddy of mine gave me a couple of cans, and I enjoyed it as I do every year. Always nice to drink a classic and remember a time when my palate was starting to finally develop. It’s still a quality brew in my mind even if it’s not up to snuff as some of the recent offerings in DIPA style.

But, like @croush I am working on a no-drinking thing until end of February so I’ll miss it this year. Working on day 3 at the moment and it’s been brutal!

Hopslam has been about $16/17 for a sixer as long as I can remember. I joined in 2011, so I suspect my first hopslam purchase was around 09/10. I used to think Hopslam was expensive, but my view has long changed in a world of $25 CBS and many others.

Bells has done a great job keeping this beer at roughly the same price for probably a decade or more!

Man, I respect you guys for doing this, but damn, it's got to be hard during the football playoffs! @croush what if MSU was playing on Monday? It wasn't that long ago you guys made the playoffs!
