Good morning, BAs! Joining @buckeye1275 (and presumably @larryi86 soon) on his “teachers getting drunk on a snow day” theme. Such a cliché...but also quite accurate.

Winter storm in effect outside - icy cold wind and blinding snow... awesome...

I'm inside drinking a beer I bought past its prime...

Yeah, so, canned 9/25 - my bad for not checking the date... Not bad really - fluffy citrusy with fleshier, more tropical-like fruit undertones and an appreciable wheat/malt element - just doesn't really pop, and it probably did when it was fresher...

    Cheers...

    It seemed appropriate . . .

Hazy light gold color with white cap.

Pleasant aroma of light bread with yellow fruit highlights, spicy Belgian yeast and hints of clove.

Taste on entry is mildly sweet which I think is due to yeast rather than actual sweetness, more an impression really. Some spicy elements present mid palate backed by ripe fruit. The flavors are not complex but the whole comes across as well put together. Finish is clean and some clove appears in the aftertaste.

There is just something wrong with 3 posts on page 1, even if it is a snow day. Cheers!

    Beautiful morning.

It's gorgeous, 9 AM here. Been meaning to get out here for awhile. Home swapping with some good friends for a little while. Been awhile since we've done it, and last time was during the summer a couple years ago in the old place. I think we got the better end of the deal this time, as there's no snow here! To be honest, I don't think they've seen snow. Well, they wanted to, and they will now! It's a wonderful 70 degrees here, and it has been for the last 3 days. As in, no variation in temperature. Brought a few choice beers with me, and trying some new stuff as well. Cheers to you all, good vibes coming your way.

    Sad day.

When I first had this years ago, I thought, "This may be the best IPA I've ever tasted."

Not today though. Not sure if was improperly stored, the beer has changed or my tastes have... but I got an off-putting flavor I sometimes get from some (usually 2nd/3rd tier) IPAs. I couldn't even get through half the can before drain pouring.

I love me some MT hoppy beers, but this is no longer one of them. (I wasn't that enamored of last year's either.)

I actually think they make a better Mountain Dew than Mountain Dew does. I really like it. Not as a beer of course, but like...with Doritos n' shit.

I've had a couple off-tasting Modern Times lately, too. There's nothing wrong with the brand, but their quality has slipped a bit. Thought about picking up some Lovaland, but I'm not so sure I want to drop the coin on it just now. I still might. I dunno. Modern Times is Modern Times.
