I'm curious what the issues are. I renewed my account but made it a DC membership so my brother can go and pick things up.

Did you open up any of the new beers? I was thinking of going this weekend, but since I can only pickup the initial package... I should wait for another weekend.

I will complain tomorrow when they don't open the doors 5 minutes early when I plan on getting there. And then when they try to push avocados on me. And a 3rd time because I had to walk all the way over to the tasting room from the fulfillment center and wasn't carted over in some gaudy air-conditioned golf cart.

No, I'm planning on trying most of them for the first time at the start of year event; I imagine the PB&J BT is pretty hot right now, and might legit hoard the Black and Blue BBLs, but will probably open up SitR Peaches before then. *shrug*

Opened a PB and jelly Thursday. It was delicious. The jelly was there as a tart flavor, although not as tart as cherries in a beer can be. If someone were to ask me what berry I would respond with I am not sure, but I know there are berries. I am terrible at writing reviews. The lunchbox series has a much more pronounced peanut butter and jelly sandwich to me. Although I do like BT mouth feel more than the lunchbox beers. The lunchbox was a thinner mouth feel than BT. This also had less of a jelly flavor than "you know what time it is" when it was fresh.

Complaints have begun? Yes! I got tired of just eating popcorn without anything amusing to read.

Allowed 2018 DC RS members to buy 2017 (during 2017) RS-exclusive bottles at the discounted rates - with D.C. pickup listed as an option at checkout, but no clear word on if they'll actually be shipped to DC, they're still not sure.

Very little in the way of announcements about the D.C. opening early on, then an email about a $55 pairing meal at a restaurant in D.C. before any concrete announcement about opening.

Opening is finally announced, with no real unique perks or event for actual RS members.

    The app

Not a huge deal, and obviously the D.C. location is new, but for as long as they've been running the RS you would expect some kind of streamlined process. Also, I bought it as a gift for someone and they were sort of overwhelmed and confused.

Just got an email with the subject "We want to hear from you!" and it's completely blank. I love getting emails from the Bruery, but not like this. I'd rather talk about beer than interact with this app and get spam in my inbox.

Speaking of beer, the Better Than Your Fathers Eggnog is really good. I'm glad there are more nitro beers on tap. Also enjoying that Pistachio Vanilla BT and White Chocolate Warmer.

That White Chocolate Warmer is fantastic. If they bottled it, I'd be ALL over it.

That’s the spirit. I think we can outdo last year and make this the most complaint-filled Bruery thread yet

Thanks for the support. I love the beer, and the people there. Some of the moves my favorite brewery has made have been less than likeable. I'm hopefully providing constructive feedback instead of whining about something trivial.

They've delivered on what was promised: you buy the membership and get 12 included beers, and get access to other exclusive beers to but and pickup in DC. There's 15% off purchases (basically no tax with DC's 10% alcohol tax).

I picked up my beers Friday afternoon. I can't imagine complaining about them not doing any hoopla or events yet. It's a storefront in essentially a meatpacking area, you're clearly not going to get the full deal like being at THE Bruery.

Out of curiosity, can you actually taste the maple? I was under the impression that adding maple never has any noticeable effect on a beer, due to how easily fermentable it is; that's why fenugreek often slips into these beers. But I was under the impression that the Warmer had no fenugreek or other maple spices, so if you can actually taste some maple, I'd be fascinated to find out how they did that...

Add maple syrup after fermentation and don't allow the beer to re-ferment (via temperature control and/or pasteurization) and you'll get plenty of maple character.
