The same. I read the post by Drake's and then the next day an updated one saying everything is okay

The only thing wrong with hopslam this year is how much better last year's was

That didn't take long. In a few years it will be worse than Bud Light.

It’s stout season, I don’t know why anyone would want to drink a douple IPA during the middle of winter. I think I’m going to head over to New Holland and drink a Dragon’s s Milk float (root beer float with dragons milk inplace of the root beer).

I only live 15 min from Bells but since the juicy IPAs have ruined almost all regular IPAs for me, I will skip on the Hopslam this year.

Me thinks the Salted Caramel Dragons Milk would make one heck of a beer float.

I can't tell if this is a troll post or not.

No disrespect to Old Nation or the New England IPA craze, but the juicy IPA is vastly overrated IMO. A good anytime beer no doubt, but nothing to mess my boxers over.

I agree on the seasonal comment tough. You used to be able to grab Hopslam on the shelves in March back in the day. I used to always save some for Opening Day.

Don't tell me you prefer Dragons Milk over KBS now too I hope.

How exactly are they overrated and why? I think that term gets thrown around quite and most of the time I’m not sure what is meant by it. Just trying to get clarification on labeling ‘overrated’ a style which is exploding in demand and popularity.

Some people just don't like the style. It's OK.

That's not what I'm asking. I know perfectly well people don't like the same things. I'm asking how is it 'overrated'.

Saying that is just expressing my opinion. Every beer, world class or not, is going to have haters. I'm not saying I don't like it, quite opposite, it's just not a style I get super excited about or drive around to bottle shops looking for.

I like it, I just don't understand why people are going bananas for it. Overrated IMO. No doubt people feel the same way about Hopslam... just not me:slight_smile:

No animosity from my end. Just genuinely curious. I like both NE style IPAs and Hopslam. There are few styles that I don't like.

I am not a hype hater but I save my money and double down on Waldos. Cheaper and I think it just fits my taste buds better for some reason.

All Day (D)IPA. Always treat DIPA like a session beer for maximum enjoyment!

There are a lot of crappy hazy IPAs out there, which can make it hard to jump into the hot new thing when many on that bandwagon are subpar. Everybody figured they can throw wheat flour into their crappy IPA and transform it into a NE IPA masterpiece. Or I'm just overthinking it and it's just not hipster enough to like something popular. Meh.

I had "NE style IPA" recently that poured crystal clear for 75% of the can and then a bunch of sludge came out at the end and "hazed" up the whole glass. Yeah that was a fun one.

I discovered Hopslam over a decade ago. Do I like it as much? No. Could it be we now have so many other beers to choose from? Definitely. Do our tastes change over time? Absolutely. Come to think of it, I rarely drink Michigan IPAs anymore. Go Bucks. OK, that last part was trolling.

Additionally, like someone said above, DIPA's are for all year around. Does a stout lover stop drinking them when the thermometer gets warmer? I doubt it.
