Howdy BAs, drinking this excellent Xocoveza. In can around here. Cheers!

Good morning/afternoon to you! I liked that Berlin offering also. Something new to me this morning - Lagunitas “Willetized Coffee Stout”:

Coffee, chocolate, rye nose. Same flavors plus some whiskey notes and oak on the back end. Dry wooden tongue coating. Warming (12.6%) but no booziness. Very lite bitter roast/chocolate malt finish/lite linger (39 IBUs). A fine drinking stout - Cheers and have a great Monday gang!

I've heard people mention down my local bottle shop that the Xocoveza canned at Stone Berlin is supposed to taste somewhat worse than the American bottles. Purely anecdotal, of course. So you cannot confirm this?

Nothing exciting, but decent enough for the price point.

Obviously this can comes from Stone Berlin, but I never had an American bottle and couldn't compare. It taste very good though, one of my fave beer all style combined.

The two beers are very very similar (see my WBAYDN post 1903, January 5, 2018). I drank a Berlin can in Basel Switzerland on 12/16/17 (WBAYDN Post 1883) and my two sets of notes are almost identical. I did not find any vanilla in the Berlin version, and a little vanilla in the North Carolina. Both had muted cinnamon spice and peppers. Both had the exact same scoring, except I gave a 4.5 in appearance to Berlin and a 4.25 to NC. In sum, both taste great and are outstanding beers, with very little differences if any, IMO. Cheers!

I've been looking through and organizing the beer stash in an effort to diminish bottles starting with the older dates. I feared a drain pour with this one as I've learned the hard way that 18th Street Hunter variants don't hold up with age. This vanilla bomber is from 11/2014 and somehow survived. Dark chocolate, roast, some mild char and a hint of vanilla. A bit of oxidation is present, but overall it's still very enjoyable. Cheers to the week ahead!

I got a little buzz from my first beer. Post breakfast with Mrs. Z beer, and dialing it back - New Glarus “Snowshoe”, an amber ale:

We may head up to the Italian grocery/deli for some fresh oil, and garlic stuffed olives in a little bit. Cheers!

I’m not much of a Tripel guy, but if I’m gonna drink one this would definitely be on the shortlist. I never had a big bottle of Westmalle before... and I gotta say that this is one handsome bottle. I really like bottles with oval, diamond or shield shaped labels.

All in good order. Got a bottle of super fresh (10/1/17) Extra Virgin Olive Oil, stuffed olives and pepperoni and a Strong Belgian Golden Ale! Our Market has a huge cooler of beer from around the world.

Moonraker "Atomic Betty" DIPA. Citra and Galaxy. Great mouthfeel and taste. They nailed this one.

Judas Priest "TURBO" on vinyl. This was a a pretty divisive album even among JP fans. The introduction of more synthesizers and 80s rock themes. Though Glen Tipton took his guitar soloing to the next level. Halford was the "Metal God" as always. Some great tracks on Turbo.
