Thanks for the feedback everyone. Tomorrow is the 2.0 release. We’ve held back a small number of cases from 1.0 to let people try them side by side, and we are offering a small discount on mixed cases because we want the feedback. The only difference between 1.0 and 2.0 is the yeast, but they are dramatically different beers. We have 84 cases of 2.0 available and 70 cases of 1.0.

Anyone have reviews/opinions on 1.0 and 2.0? Unfortunately, haven’t been able to try either one.

I have had both 1.0 (London 3) and 2.0 (Conan) I believe this is correct? The 1.0 version for me is sweeter and the 2.0 has a bite or bitterness that I'm really enjoying. I had 2.0 on draft on Sunday and there was a slight hop burn, but the cans are drinking super nice. It may be a little hard to judge because 1.0 has had a few weeks to sit and come into it's own and 2.0 hasn't. That being said 2.0 is agreeing with my palate right now but both really good beers

Tried both side-by-side last night. Thought batch 1.0 had a little better mouthfeel and was more grapefruit-forward than batch 2.0.

That is my exact issue as well. Between the releases at WeldWerks the last few weeks, bringing back a bunch of beer from Chicago over the holiday wknd on top of what was already in my fridge, I have absolutely zero space. Definitely need to do a lot more drinking and a lot less buying at this point.

I won’t! I’ll be up pouring at Big Beers. If anyone is at Big Beers come say hi.

Have not seen anything new in GJ.

    Cheers!

Would make sense for taproom only releases to not be in GJ.

Their distribution really does not make it this way.

    Cheers!

Fucking love it. Wish I'd maxed out on that instead of buying the others. It is great.

I skipped QDH due to not loving last years. Made a mistake? Anyway.

    Intergalactic Juice Hunter.

I got a chance to try IJH 1.0 and 2.0 back to back on Saturday night. B1 had a date around 11/25/2017 I think?

IJH 1.0 is nearly perfect. It had the cream mouthfeel and the juicy hoppy flavors. Feels light and crushable. Haze is pretty strong with this one, and a slightly orange but mostly yellow color. Hops are mostly citrus, peach, a bit of pine. If I had to mess with this I might look to extract a bit more orange flavor from the hops, or toy with cutting back the lactose about 10%. "4.25/5"

IJH 2.0 is IMO a step back from the previous. It's not a hazy, doesn't feel as creamy. I think the base bitterness (perceived anyway) is higher. The hops don't taste as "juicy" and there's more pine and less peach. I think my perception of 2.0 is less because 1.0 was more favorable. Only slightly hazy and color comes off more golden because of this. "4.0/5"

If I had to guess what the changes were between 1 and 2, I'd say there's something different in the fermentation, maybe diff yeast strain, and cooler fermentation temps? It's amazing to me how diff they are considering there is only one change. If I had to make another guess, I'm thinking maybe 1.0 has oats and 2.0 doesn't.

If I was Odd13 I would try B3 to be extremely close to b1 with just 1-2 small tweaks and see how that goes.

Nailed it. Only difference between 1.0 and 2.0 was yeast strain. 3.0 will be 1.0 with less lactose.

If you dial back the lactose are you going to adjust the bittering hops at all? I think some people will find 1.0 to be "too sweet" while others will really like the balance.

1.0 is the best. 3.0 is too dry.
