Lol, I always buy my beer with cash or my, personal, credit card. She has an app on her phone which tracks debit card/bank transactions so I never use that.

Yes! I had sort of the same thing happen Sunday.

I was in my kitchen and I hear her from the living room "How did you spend $60 on 3 4 packs of beer?!?! How much are 4 packs there?" Didn't cross my mind that maybe she would look at our joint Amex account activity.

And dumb of me to think that maybe she'd understand that they're $20 because they're DDH....

That's probably what the wife thinks, certainly not on my part.

My wife is not a beer fan so, and trust me, she sees the basement, I'd rather her not actually see the $ number. She'll split the occassional Mexican Cake, Ten Fidy or KBS with me, but she hates IPAs. I should add, I only spend what I can afford to spend, beer-wise.

My wife always hated beer, especially any IPAs I have. This past Friday she tried one of my buddies Grimm dessert sours (I don't recall what it was) and she really enjoyed it. So now I'm nervous she's gonna have me hunt down Grimm bottles for her, resulting in more beer spending.

Thats too funny, as are some of the other responses. Given people on this site love beer we consider many of the aspects of craft beer culture normal. But I am sure people on the outside are somewhat horrified. How much do you think she thought a 4 pack cost before her excursion?

I don't know about @rozzom but I told my wife they were $16, which isn't wrong. But that was when beers like Hop Showers etc were $16 a 4 pack. Just never mentioned that prices have changed....

I may have been a little more duplicitous

I think I pointed out that generally a 6 pack at a supermarket goes for around 10-12 bucks, but that “the good thing about OH is they sell by the 4 pack”

No I’m kidding - I wish I’d been that clever. I’ve been playing the low end like @llerrafnad

Not that this question matters to the beer in the slightest, but I'm kind of confused by the label for the Mosaic Dream beer. Is it supposed to look similar to the Double Mosaic Dream label, i.e. looking like a mosaic? It looks more like a label for one of the "Oat Cream IPA" beers they're making. Or am I crazy? Just wondering whether this beer is going to be a lighter version of double mosaic, or something else?

My wife is also a big fan of the Pop! Series. If I bring home more than a four pack I always try to make sure the answer to “is there anything I would like?” isn’t no.

My wife and I got into numerous debates about beer purchases over the past couple years. After having MANY discussions about drinkable beer, beer to be aged, and occasion beer she gave up. I encourage all husband's to turn their wife arguments into opportunities for beer education! You will never get into a beer argument again!

Same. With the name Mosaic Dream I was expecting there to be oats/lactose, but the IG post doesn't mention it. If it is strictly Mosaic hops it will be very similar to the Mosaic Single Hop beer (not complaining.)

    I thought with DMD/DMDD:

Double Mosaic Dream = no lactose

    Double Mosaic Daydream = lactose

So stands to reason that Mosaic Dream = single IPA w/o lactose no?

It would have been better if the whole lactose movement had come about pre-DMD, and anything with dream in it could have been reserved for lactose beers to make it simple for idiots like me

    Agreed about label though @thedon10

    Yeah, it's a little inconsistent:

    Mosaic Dream = Mosaic IPA
Double Mosaic Dream = Mosaic DIPA
Space Dream = Galaxy IPA w/ Lactose
Space Daydream = Galaxy DIPA w Lactose
Citra Daydream = Citra IPA w/ Lactose
Double Citra Daydream = Citra DIPA w/ Lactose
Dream In Green = IPA w/ oats
Daydream In Green = DIPA w/ oats

My wife is from Texas, so there was a dual purpose to my post - despite the fact I'd asked her to go and would be drinking most of what she purchased, it still irked me that an out-of-towner was pulling beer out from under the noses of deserving locals
