I was thinking that, too. Avery seems to be in the midst of some big changes to their line-ups. Maybe they're dialing these back, too? Either that or I'm just not paying attention like I used to. Callypigian is the last one that really blew me away.

Never even seen that one in the few shops I go to.

    I wish that
    Fimbulvvinter
showed up in Casper. The bottle share we had at Frontier Brewing Company and Taproom left me yearning for more .

It's from April of 2016, but I have occasionally encountered bottles of it since. I bought one off the shelf of a small store in Aurora 3-4 months ago. He might just be agreeable, but I've heard Adam Avery say it was his favorite of the series at Rare Beer. It's definitely up there for me.

This is particularly disappointing since IIRC they had said that expansion of the gold-foil series was why they stopped production on Meph, Samaels, the Beast, etc. In fairness to Avery, they have expanded the green-foil series significantly with some quality offerings (still love vanilla bean stout as a great affordable stout w/ barrel character, apricot sour, coconut porter, tangerine quad) but not quite the level of experimentation with the gold-foils as we had before.

Seen bottles of Vanilla Bean Stout, Tangerine Quad, Ginger something, Apricot Sour, maybe Coconut Porter around now.

    Cheers!

There was a similarly lengthy break in gold foils this time last year, plus they just unleashed Uncle Jacob’s. Their calendar calls for 4-5 releases this year, separate from what will probably be a big rollout for Neckbeard’s Revenge in May.

I have no idea if they've ever considered it, but I'd like to see them revisit some of their anniversary beers someday. They're coming up on 25 and to my knowledge none of them have been brewed again. It could be a fun mixed pack or different type of foil series. I think I'm just holding on to the hope that Thirteen will be brewed again someday.

The gold foils are deep at supermarket liquors in Cheyenne .. after picking up some more mephistopheles I found the fimbulvvinter .. good brew with a nice head .. More gold foil !
