I was not impressed with it this year, a little malty for my liking. But anything is worth trying, you may love it.

Yes. It's an annual favourite of mine. And others, I presume.

I agree that it was a little malty this year but still plenty of fresh hop goodness I look forward to each holiday season. Might still be able to find the SN Fresh Hop collection out there. 12-pack cans that included Celebration.

I think any beer is worth trying but Celebration to me is one of the most over hyped beers.

Good price, solid beer, not my favorite, but I grab one every year just to see if my tastes change

Try it , you might like it. It's a solid beer but I can't say I would be a buyer at $15 a twelve pack anymore. I drank mine and enjoyed them but really did not think it was any great thing. Years ago it was a must have beer.

    Enjoy

I buy a six pack every year and really enjoy it. It has been a holiday favorite of mine for many years. It is always fresh. I don't see how you could go wrong. As far as what is better Celebration vs Torpedo they are both very different and both very solid choices. Buy some of each. That is the fun of craft beer. Make your own judgment.

One of the all-time craft-beer greats. The 2017 batch is over three months old at this point (or at least the bottle I'm drinking now is). So it's a bit sweeter than fresh, but still plenty enjoyable. You should definitely grab a sixer of next year's when it comes out in October or November.

Start with your lighter beers first and save the darker for last. Or if they are all light or dark save the best for last. If you drink the best first there is a good chance that you will not enjoy the beers to follow as much.

Please accept my apologies.....drink them all and howl at the moon!!

Seriously....I would drink the Torpedo first, then I would drink a water before moving on to the stouts....then I would uber to the nearest bar and order some wings before heading home and hitting the throne....

Celebration is one of the most important beers in the craft era. There really aren’t many beers in the same league as far as importance goes. This doesn’t mean that anyone should like it though. That’s a different and highly subjective matter. Should someone (such as the OP) try it? Well, there’s no way anyone will know for sure what that one person will enjoy. If someone is simply trying to grasp what beer today is about and wants to look at the modern classics, then that person should absolutely try Celebration.

It’s not exactly fresh at the moment, but the answer is always yes. When it first hits the shelves, the better question is “is it worth killing a guy to drink fresh?”

@reowin The answer is "yes", try it. It might not be your favorite beer but it is a classic for a reason.

Personally, I like Celebration a lot more than Torpedo, and not as much as Hop Hunter. Celebration holds up better with age, imo, because of the malt profile.

It's very good but if you can get Hazy Little Thing, I'd bypass Celebration and get a sixer of HLT.

Both Torpedo and Celebration are long-time favorites. I've had much more Torpedo than celebration, but have a much more sentimental love of celebration. Probably because of my association of it with the changing of the seasons. Taste eise, neither one blows my mind in 2018 like they did in 2008.

This was my first response. However, I need to apologize for some of us who grew up when the US beer scene was a vast wasteland of piss beer. In the that wasteland, there appeared Sierra Nevada. No longer did we have to drink low quality and no taste beers.

In my mind, Celebration is one of the flagship beers that anyone new to craft beer should try once. Is there better beer? Hell yeah. Is Celebration still good beer and worth buying? Hell yeah. I get a six or twelve pack every year.

Torpedo is relatively new in the beer offering of SN. Good, but I don't buy as often as other SN beers.
