Joining @DoctorZombies with some Bourbon County tonight. First 2017 of the year. Big and boozy! I'm also sipping this one, and this will be it for the night. Cheers!

G' evening BA's. Started the night with this 2017 GABF gold medal winner and one of my favorites.

Ending it with this one from Big Top Brewing, not their medal winner but it's still a decent offering.

    Cheers!

While every fiber of my being wanted another Axilla, I could not oblige...

    I only bought one...

So I went for this triple dry hopped double IPA...
    DuClaw's Rule of Three...

Got kinda middling reviews so far, but I'm really diggin' it...

Presented lots of citrusy melon notes and something deeper of a more pine-like nature, with a dusty, berry-like sweetness I tend to associate with lupulin powders and double-dry hopping (though this is triple dry hopped)... Medium-weight and moderately bitter; mildly sweet and softly carbonated... I'm going above the rDev on this one, too... Thought it very good... Features Centennial hops and Citra and Simcoe lupulin powder...

    12/7/17 canning...

That'll do me for tonight, BA...

    Cheers...

Pours a very clear, light golden color. The head is white, 1 finger, retention is poor.
The nose is quite strong with lemon. Slight malt also.
Taste - Has a lot of lemon on the taste. Light flavor. Somewhat of an artificial lemon flavor.
Feel is quite light, but to be expected for this style.
This would be an amazing beer on a very hot day. For what it is it isn't bad.

The heavens are definitely smiling down on this one. I thought I had this one before but after checking my reviews, evidently I have not. How did I miss this Classic Tripel?? :scream:

Awesome as usual this year. Amazing lasting head retention and thick soapy lacing the whole glass. Aromas and flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with balanced caramel, toasted bread malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; balanced creamy/bready malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Light resins/rinds, increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Insanely drinkable. Super juicy and lightly dank Chinook/Centennial/Cascade hops; perfect malt balance, never overly sweet/heavy feeling. I love C hops all year, the fresh hops are very obvious with the herbal/spicy quality going on. Will definitely be getting another pack eventually. It holds up really well as with all SN IPAs.

Fantastic black IPA! Bright hop flavors of grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pineapple, mango, lemon zest, orange peel, and pine; with moderate chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, and light smoke/char malt balance; and floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/citrus peel/grassy hop and light roast/char bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body. Balanced bready malts and hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Slight resins and chalky roast. Increasingly drying, never astringent. Super drinkable. One of my favorite black IPAs(not many really available anymore anyways). Still retains a lot of nice presence of the roast malts on the finish, but still has a good amount of bitter hop dryness. Same awesome juicy hop complexity of the White Rajah. Glad I got a 6 pack in Ohio over the holidays.

Always excellent Belgian stout. Glad they brought it back again. Big flavors of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, molasses, dark bread, toasted biscuit, and light nutty/smokey malts; with raisin, plum, fig, cherry, clove, pepper, light banana yeast; and mild herbal hops. Light-moderate peppery yeast and herbal/roasted bitterness on the finish. Really great creamy/silky medium-plus bodied mouthfeel. Slight hops stickiness and chalky roast. Lightly increasing bitter/roasted dryness. Never acrid/astringent. Super smooth. Awesome balance between stout and Belgian yeast complexity. One of my favorite seasonals, but that applies to everything Bell's makes anyways.

Awesome DIPA this year as usual, picked up a fresh pack today since no Hopslam was around. Aromas and flavors of huge bright tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, coconut, citrus rind, pepper, and pine hops; with some light caramel/bready malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Good sized pine, citrus rind, peppery bitterness on the finish. Very sticky/resinous/rindy and drying finish; some balancing grainy malt creaminess in the mouthfeel. A bit of lingering resinous hop astringency, but still very drinkable. Super dank and aggressive. Not my favorite Short's DIPA, but well worth buying the pack every time it shows up.
