I probably wouldn't want an APA in the dead of winter (or would I ), but a 10% ABV DIPA? Hellz yeah! Of course, I always love me some Celebration too, which is another hoppy winter seasonal.

You make a good point with changing tastes...but Hopslam always hits the nostalgia factor for me regardless of how it compares to its best years.

Honestly, I'm a stout lover and if I lived in Arizona I would not be drinking them as much. But screw AZ, I love snow, cold temps, and miserable amounts of sunshine. I have plenty of CBS to compliment!

Go Blue! Give Harbaugh 10 more years and he'll finally get the appropriate staff in place to MAYBE win something..yet.. never compete for a Natty. Big Ten is a joke.

Shea Patterson. Ole Mich. Let's go!

Had my first HOPSLAM of ‘18.

    Still delicious.

If this were a year round release I would always have a sixer on hand.

It’s a classic. A very well balanced DIPA. One I can appreciate at all times.

I’ve been ticking for a good 5 plus years and I’m finding that I’m coming back to the beers that got me into the scene more and more.

I was trading with people from California, New York, and Connecticut and I’m realizing that all my beer needs are easily met here in Michigan.

Haters gonna hate, and (fresh-ish) HOPSLAM will still be delicious decades from now.

    DILLY DILLY!

I gotta be honest..over the last 10 years I've had little problems with getting this beer but have never seen a mini-keg with my own eyes.

My bottle shop guy was going to save one for me this year but they didn't give him any. Some of the other stores near me who get WAY less Hopslam allocated to them ended up getting a few mini kegs.

What gives? I want to be a hero come AFC/NFC Championship weekend.

I would call Bell's General Store, they were limit 2 last weekend when I got mine.

It kills me that I've not once been able to make it out there. I need to find some other stuff to do one weekend in K-Zoo and hit it up.

I checked two other shops near my work and they both told me the mini-kegs weren't out yet:rolling_eyes:. Obviously that's not true, but maybe they won't hit my area (SE Mich) until the next wave.

An FYI to those in McHenry county IL, I was told it should be available starting next Monday. My local store is getting their shipment Thursday.

I am in Monroe and I have heard the same thing. I need to get another one to donate for a charity auction in March.

On my way home I hit my other regular store who had just got their shipment within the hour. They posted on FB and had a mini in the pic. The guy told me he got a few of them but the Bells Rep told him not to sell them until the following week when they get more.

It's starting to be more about the chase now...

Maybe everyone is being coy and waiting until the official release date next week. (Although it is on tap at the pub as well as being available to go in the store.)

Perfect timing on this hitting area Binnys. Will take some willpower but gonna wait until tomorrow to pick some up to save almost $3 on it with the Binnys coupon.

I'm on 6er number 3 since the release in the general store last week! Easy drinking beer IMO.

Just got an email from a local store asking for orders at $16.99/six. Went ahead and put in an order for six to start.

I'll admit that I totally whaled out this year and have about 4 cases in the garage. I'm still dying inside until I get that elusive Mini keg though. I need a decorative piece for the mantle, I'm sure my wife will love it!

Wonder how long it’ll last. My guess is it’ll be gone today.

Binnys has been pretty quiet on Twitter so far

I’m with ya on stout season, love it. But to go with stout season, for me it’s almost “higher abv” season. Winter is perfect time for a 10% double ipa. Maybe it’s just me but when it’s 90 degrees out I might not reach for a Hopslam! Hopefully your dragons milk float was awesome, I’ve yet to try a float like that. Sounds like a good way to shit urself haha but that’s just me Cheers!
