Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good hump day. Another busy and pretty quick feeling day. Finished up one report and have a few more to tackle through the end of the week. Made my usual mid week bottle returns and mini beer haul after work. Amazing how bad traffic was with only a light drizzle.

    Today's reviews:

Another new Ohio brewery. Needs to be added to the database. Excellent witbier. Fantastic lasting head retention and lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big lemon, orange zest, coriander, pear, apple, and light banana/pepper/clove yeast; with moderate wheat, white bread doughy malts; mild herbal/grassy hops and yeasty earthiness. Light herbal/grassy bitterness, yeast spiciness, and wheat tang/tartness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Nice bready/grainy wheat creaminess and light hop/spice stickiness in the mouthfeel. Increasing bitter/spicy/carbonated dryness; no astringency. Very flavorful/refreshing, 5%. Absolutely spot on wit all around. Perfectly balanced yeast, spices, and malts; with mild earthy hop presence. Delicious! 4.03

Fantastic IPA! Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, grapefruit, peach, pear, apricot, pineapple, passionfruit, papaya, mango, melon, guava, berry, lime, lemon/orange zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate wheat, cracker, biscuity malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Mild pine, zesty, herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; nice bready/grainy wheat creaminess and some hop stickiness in the mouthfeel. Slight resins, lightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Super drinkable, minimal warming 7%. Another easy winner NEIPA from Evil twin. Galaxy and Simcoe. Super juicy and lightly dank hops, balanced bready malts. Would buy again. 4.25

Fantastic Quad! Amazing head retention and lasting lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of big raisin, plum, fig, date, cherry, apricot, pear, red apple, pepper, and clove yeast; with balanced caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, and toasted biscuit malts; with lighter notes of chocolate, coffee, nuttiness, herbal/woody/grassy hops, and yeasty earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spiciness, and light herbal/grassy/roast bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium-plus body; nice creamy/bready/grainy malt mouthfeel; light hop spiciness and chalky roast. Lightly increasing spicy/carbonated dryness; no cloying/astringent flavors. Dangerously smooth, minimal warming 10.2%. This hits the style the exact way I like it. Perfectly balanced fruity/spicy yeast and dark/bready malts. Never overly heavy on maltiness or dark on sweetness(licorice/molasses etc). Wonderful. 4.23

Amazing Flanders red ale! Great head retention/lacing for the style. Aromas and flavors of huge tart/sour red/black cherry, blackberry, raisin, plum, fig, date, lemon, lime, red/green apple, red grape, red wine, hay, straw, grass, toasted oak, and leathery/musty funk; with balanced honey, caramel, brown sugar, and bready malts; with lighter notes of oaken vanilla, pepper, and balsamic vinegar. Light-moderate lactic tartness and light yeast/tannic oak spiciness on the finish. Medium carbonation/body; Creamy/grainy malts, some lactic acid, and light oak tannin in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing lactic/tannic dryness; zero pucker/astringency. Super smooth, zero warming 6%. One of the better ones I've ever had for sure! Outstanding fruity/funky Brett and Lacto complexity; perfectly balanced dark/bready malts, and nice oak presence. A touch too heavy on the darker fruits, but the malt backbone was perfect. Never overly sour or lactic. 4.35

My favorite song by this band. Lost the connection when I tried to reply but went to YouTube. Just had to hear it.

lol - the only other guy who had this rated it a 2.5 - he musta hated it!

Don't let that one rating throw you off - it's not bad! Double dry hopped with Mosaic, probably canned about a month ago... Tropical and citrus fruits on the nose, rather muddled together, with some herbal notes on the side... Tastes along those lines, but with hints of berry brightening it up and a subtle undercurrent of something more akin to pine... Smooth and softly carbonated, 65 IBUs come across as mildly bitter; sweetness is subdued, too, allowing for a nice, mellow drinking experience...

    Avast ye...

    Heave ho!

    Cheers...

I've been flipping between a lot of different Netflix series recently. Tonight I'm starting The Defenders while drinking a Prairie Artisan Bomb from 2013 (13 348).

You have heard it all before I am sure but 40 years will go by fast. Too fast. Enjoy what you are doing. I have to say you have a hard job that not too many folks can do. Certainly not me.

I have had my share of medical issues and have always been amazed by the dedication of medical folks at all levels.

Enjoy your beer. You have earned it. And will earn it for many years to come.

While transferring Alchemist stouts from kitchen fridge to dedicated "Alchemist" fridge (in bathroom!), found 6 of these way in the back behind a four pack of Farmer's Daughter. Still so good!
