This is a great beer that I haven't had in a while. Nice glass too. Also, I am listening to vinyl. Hmmm.

 

What a long day. Had major root canal two days ago and have been back and forth to the vet because my dog had major oral surgery today. Guess it runs in the family, this beer is the best part of my day so far

 

Excited to find Petrus Nitro Quad Ale on tap at the bar's 5th anniversary party.

 

Amusing label and name for this beer. Pretty smooth for 11%. Cheers!

 

The Juice Beyond

 

First one on a rainy, unseasonably warm (56 degrees) Northern Indiana evening. I really like this.

 

I was saving this for NBS, but the fridge purging must continue, so I sallie forth - CCB’s 2/26/16 “Opal”:



I believe an El Cat release originally. Warmed up to 54 degrees. Described by some as an Old Ale, it now drinks more like a Barleywine. Hops more an afterthought now. Really smooth and tasty. Raisins plums prunes barest hint of bourbon. Dark sugary fruit chocolate booze very lite bitterness. Smooth velvety yet medium body with a very lite barrel dryness. Outstanding!

 

Really good stuff here fella's...if ya can't get Pure Hoppiness, this one is a viable substitute....

Next up is Epic Brewing Co. - Triple Barrel Big Bad Baptist. Much more balanced than Baptista. I like the note of oak.

Well my work week just got cut from 5 - 8 hours shifts to 2 - 8s and 2 - 12s. And a project I was working on has been accepted for national recognition. So I just got an extra 52 days a year off and I got some very good press for a healthcare initiative I have been working on for 4 years. I went to Big Mikes barn and celebrated with 2 High West Victory at Seas, 1 Southern Tier IPA and 1 2017 BCBS. I am calling in sick tomorrow and going crossbow hunting with the boys for 3 days. Meanwhile I have to finish celebrating before my wife gets home. For a 59 year old I am I am one thankful dude. Life is good!!!! ....... 1 Super Session 8 before she rolls in and I just have to not breath in her direction and not talk too much. Well.....been married for 35 year so she probably has me pegged
