Tropical fruit forward, with a fleshy, thick-bodied feel; mildly bitter, sweet with a syrupy quality like what comes out of a canned fruit product... Despite featuring Citra, Simcoe, and Motueka - a strong hop profile - and being double dry hopped - which I love - this beer was a miss for me... 12/15/17 canning...

Earlier today, in Total Wine... oh, just one of my favorite Scotches...
The cheapest I ever saw this was over 10 years ago for 69.99 - since then I've bought it for no less than 79.99... Today, in TW, having considered a bottle of bourbon and a bottle of absinthe, I decided to check out my original alcoholic crush, single-malt Scotch...

    $59.99!!! Are you kidding me???

    Fucking awesome...

Good evening BA, hope everyone had a good Thursday. Had an extra late meeting today so it took me forever to get home. Did not make my usual store run today since it would have taken even longer to get there. The traffic was the worst, and it was only drizzling.

    Today's Reviews:

I love how they have double label art on every can. Very nice Pils. Fantastic lasting head retention and lacing down the glass. Flavors of lemon, cracker, corn, white bread dough, and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Similar muted aromas. Light herbal, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-high carbonation, medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Nice bready/grainy malts and light sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Lightly increasing bitter dryness, no hop astringency. Perfectly clean lagering, zero yeast notes. Very flavorful/refreshing. This is definitely a Czech pils, though it does have corn. Site style change requested. Balanced pils malt/earthy hop flavors, with mellow balancing bitterness. Really delicious. 3.91

I have ran across so many Gose recently, mostly because of Platform. This is Green Bench. Excellent! Aromas and flavors of big juicy and fairly tart/tangy guava, passionfruit, fruit skin, lemon, lime, pineapple, melon, berry, red/green apple, pear, white grape, and sea salt; with some moderate wheat/crackery/bready malts and light lacto funk. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness and fruit tang on the finish. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; balanced bready/grainy malt, lactic acid, and fruit tang/tannins in the mouthfeel. Mild salinity. Light-moderate increasing lactic/tangy dryness, zero puckering. Super refreshing, 4%. Perfectly balanced Lacto/Brett complexity with passionfruit/guava, and a nice malt backbone. Very flavorful for the ABV. Not as much salty notes as I expected, but solid. 4

Amazing IPA! Fantastic lasting head retention and thick lacing on the glass. Aromas and flavors of huge tangerine, peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, passionfruit, papaya, guava, berry, grapefruit, lemon, citrus zest, and light pepper/pine hops; with moderate cracker, white bready malts; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Light-moderate pine, citrus peel, grassy, spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium carbonation, light-medium body, and moderately crisp/clean finishing. Balanced bready/grainy malts and sticky hops in the mouthfeel. Slight resins, increasing bitter dryness, zero hop astringency. Refreshingly drinkable for an IPA, 7.3%. Wow. Amarillo, Apollo, Mosaic, and Galaxy hops. Insanely juicy tropical/citrus/stone fruit party; with a nice balancing pale malt backbone. Spot on west coast style as intended, never overly aggressive on bitterness. 4.38

Awesome stuff! Aromas and flavors of big juicy and lightly tart/tangy raspberries, fruit skin, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, brown sugar, vanilla, cream, fudge, and dark/brown bread; with light notes of coffee, molasses, and smoke. Mild herbal/roast bitterness and fruit tang/tartness on the finish. Medium carbonation and full body; amazing creamy, silky, velvety, and rich mouthfeel. Slight slickness, chalky roast, and fruit tang/acids. Minimal dryness, no cloying sweetness. Insanely drinkable, zero warming 10.5%. I am a huge fruit stout fan, this was outstanding. Not as much raspberry as I expected, vs some others I've had; but still plenty enough. Super rich and spot on base imperial milk stout, with complementing tart/tangy fruit. Loved it. 4.15

    Evening BA

Work lunch today included a couple draft beers. Late day broker meeting lead to a few after work at one of the dime a dozen Irish pubs that NYC has to offer. I revisited Chimay Red, Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, and tried for the first time Golden Road Wolf Pup, which I thought was a nice session IPA.

At home now and working from home tomorrow, so drinking a bomber of this locally made BBA Imperial Oatmeal Stout.

I am drinking Chimay Grande Reserve a Belgian Strong Ale from my 1 liter Disneyland cup, ABV 9.00%. I've had it before but it is a very good beer. The taste is sweet raisin bread, figs, banana, maybe some yeast, it is a bit boozy, but very good.

I found some that weren’t too old so I pulled the trigger since I’m getting dangerously low on IPA’s. It tastes good and is holding up well around 60 days, cheers!

First half of a 32oz grumbler of White Elm Cinnamon Roll Stout, 12.3% ABV, 65 IBU. Pours black with a slight brown head. Aroma is strong cinnamon, some vanilla, smells sweet. Taste follows, actually like someone dumped a tablespoon of cinnamon, a pinch of sugar, and a few drops of vanilla in an imperial stout. Actually that is probably exactly what this is. Excellent mouthfeel, overall outstanding.
