    on tap this morning is one of my favorite local beers..BQE from Finback Brewery here in Queens..this is the barrel aged version and its wonderful!..cheers!!

    Good morning BAs! Today is the first beer from my most recent beer run, today's New Breakfast Beer:



    Mediocre but cheap for an 8.2% "Imperial Stout".

    Reached in the pack and pulled this out . . .

    Bright rose gold appearance, if it were handed to me as a red ale I wouldn't argue.

    Nice aroma of rich, caramel like malt with floral, spicy hops.

    Flavor of rich malt cake with hop icing. Consistent flavor all the way through, finishing clean and crisp with lingering malt touches. These flavors are not woven together with complexity, rather remain parallel running alongside each other in pleasant harmony.

    A very well crafted (yeah, that's what I said) beer in the Vienna style. I say that like I really know what I'm talking about, every Vienna I've had tasted a little different, but the style brings to mind caramel malty richness with balancing hops and that describes this beer pretty well.

    Home Made Pesto with Bell's Lager of the Lakes.

    This dish would also pair with the saison and with the Belgian pale ale in general. It depends on their flavors and the varieties of hops that were used. This BPA has brett so I don't know yet. The basil is from my aeorgarden. New Beer Sunday is coming. Eat a Peach.

    After so many stouts, I’m dialing it back a bit with this lunch beer Grimm’s “Present Perfect”, a Berliner Weisse Ale brewed with Passion Fruit:



    Rhubarb nose, with a little perfumy floral hops. Passion Fruit and sour green apples mingle with lite floral hops. Highly carbonated, bubbly like champagne with dry clean crisp finish. Outstanding!
