I had an Ipswich Barleywine at the restaurant. Not sure if the canned one is the same as the one I had was not named. I thought it was fantastic. I felt it was a hybrid It leaned English but had a good hop punch too. I'll be on the lookout for the canned version.

My thoughts exactly, I had a can this week.

Compares a bit to SN Bigfoot IMO, which leans hoppy too. Practically the only other barleywine I like (RIP Anchor Foghorn).

Since when has Framinghammer been canned? Did I miss something?

Ipswich Hellbound. Yes. Yes. Yes. Very much an English barley wine. Makes me think Adnams Tally Ho on steroids.

I grabbed a Fort Hill pilsner today. I'm not in love with it but I'll be damned if it's not one of the best values @$6.99 a six pack.

Also grabbed Abandoned Building Dirty Girl. Despite the name that takes craft beer back to...well... now. I guess the name is normal but time to be more creative.

Very nice beer but reminds me so much of Great North IPA I can't see myself ever buying it again because GN is much cheaper.

Been trying some of the suggestions from this thread, here are a few reactions.

Bought a sixer of Zero Gravity Green State Lager. To me it tastes like something of a hybrid between a pilsner and a helles, as it has less hop bitterness than I expected and emphasizes the malt more. I liked it, but I can see why they didn't put pilsner in the name.

I also had a couple pints of Little Wolf on draft. Had a striking passion fruit flavor that I liked a lot, and was definitely something different. Seemed like the kind of flavor that might fade quickly, but I will look for fresh cans of this and try the Conehead as well.

I also got some of the Exhibit A Danko Rye IPA. Will revisit with additional cans, but the first one didn't really do it for me. Had a great hop aroma, but the flavor seemed a bit muted.

Melvin IPA I loved. Will be trying more of their beers, as this one is a real winner for me.

Melvin is killing it for me. If the deliveries can stay right sized to keep it fresh I will keep buying.

Just curious, I've been to a few stores and been really wanting to try some Melvin beers but every store (3 different) that has had some beers, asterisk and 2x4 at least were all canned from 10/23/17 or around that date and nothing fresher. Is that the batch your drinking or are there fresher batches I'm missing?

The 2x4 DIPA I had yesterday I got at CBC Newton and it was a 12/16 canning (a little hard to read). It was absolutely delicious.

I have one of those 10/23/17 2x4 cannings left in my fridge. If the 10/14/17 Melvin IPA I am currently drinking is any indication (also last in my fridge, bought both sometime in Nov), it will be just fine. Quite enjoying this. Perfect old school IPA.

finally cracking the yankee blend. I actually quite enjoy it. The coconut and rum play nice together. Super smooth. Maybe a tad thin and a bit sweeter than my tastes prefer, but I knew I was in for a pretty sweet beer anyway.

The Sam Adams NEIPA is pretty legit. It is on the Wachusset Ipswich level and I actually like it better. Its not a TH or Trill but a nice fridge filler for $10/4 pk. I am surprised.

Not a fan of any of the CBC barleywines?

I used to really dig Old Ruffian, but I haven't bought it in years. Between price and always seeing it in a large bottle format, I simply haven't bothered. Might have been my favorite if I recall correctly.

Yeah I like CBC's - but was thinking mostly of packaged/distro'd ones. Wow I forgot about Old Ruffian but I remember liking it.

CBC started packaging and distributing Arquebus and Blunderbuss in mid-2017. I haven't purchased either so I can't speak to the quality (other than on tap at the brew pub), but I've seen them kicking around at some local packies and (I think) Total Wine. I didn't have a great experience with You Enjoy My Stout during its early packaging runs so I've been a bit tentative about buying any of their BA beers since.

The 22s of YEMS were great but something was definitely up with the 750s. Mine was fizzy and thin (it was great at the brewpub though). Don’t think they’ve released a batch since then.

The bottled wilds have been fantastic.

Mother Earth from California just hit distro here. I picked up their 12-variety pack yesterday.

Their Cali Creamin' has been a beer I've always liked since having it on tap out in SD a couple years ago. I tend to have a couple a year, so I was happy to see it here. Jury is out if I like it solely as a connotative experience being back in SD when I go or if it is really good. There's a couple IPA and a Peanut Butter stout too.

We'll see. Package date is 12/27 (or something around then).
